Same using Opera 11.60 in Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS. 4 tabs (Reddit) at the time. Only desktop effect enabled was Wobbly Windows, otherwise, just plain Gnome 2. 514Mb of RAM use! Whole thing froze and grey-screened for nearly a minute! Also, weird 'double' icon in gnome-panel when in use. And this has happened more than once. Can someone at least tell me how to roll back to 11.50? I've been a long time Opera supporter, but the latest version is so hard to use I'm looking at going to Chrome until it's all fixed. These memory leaks have been plaguing Opera since 11.

I'm feeling much better now that all the other people in my head and I are working as a team! Well, at least until I ate some of them. Now the rest of us alternate between being not hungry anymore and being really worried, which is never good for the digestion! Burp.

Freshly restarted 11.60 browser, load my.opera.com, follow the link to this forum and looking at memory usage under Windows 7 - 150MB of memory.
I also have major performance issues with 11.60 in general, it's super slow and loads pages incompletely, etc. Not sure if the two are related in any way.
Edit: 80 MB on initial load (with it showing speed dial). Jumps to 100 MB the moment I load this page.
Edit 2: Ok, apparently even 11.52 hits 100+ on initial load so I'm probably not having a special issue with that particular problem... nevermind.
Edit 3: Ok, on 11.52 after a short time of browsing... 360MB and counting! 11.52 works fine though, aside from the pretty outlandish memory usage to show three tabs.
