Opera is not useful in professional environment?
Hello,i had decided to test Opera behind a Proxy (AD-User)- and it is not working satisfyingly:
Opera 11.52 Windows XP / Windows 7 64Bit
proxy.pac Files are not! working!
Proxy manually added working - but not good. Most of the sides i need to work (https) will not load - and if, they have failures or i get Access Denied from my Proxy. I have to Authenticate all the time at the Proxy manually (saved credentials).
Example: through proxy there is no chance to get https://usercenter.checkpoint.com or https://support.fortinet.com working.
Also WEB-GUIs aren't working correctly with Opera (CheckPoint, Fortinet, Juniper, F5, VMware... etc).
When i can choose whole Networks or Wildcards in proxy-Exceptions in IE, FF, AS, i have to use Hosts in Opera Proxy exeptions. (=> Feature Request?)
Proxies i've tested:
BlueCoat ProxySG (Productive, SGOS 6.X)
BlueCoat ProxySG (Lab, SGOS5.X)
M86 Finjan VS (Lab V10.X; V9.2.X)
McAfee WebGateway (Lab V7.X)
do have anyone else these problems? What i'm doing wrong?
It has this tutorial for proxies http://www.opera.com/support/kb/view/332/ Also check the this search for other posts http://my.opera.com/community/forums/search.dml?term=proxy&id=26 Besides that i haven't used Opera behind a proxy, maybe someone else can help.
WinXP+SP3, Opera 12.00 beta Build 1387
