Yes this is a critical bug, I've been in process of switching to opera as my default browser but this could be a deal-breaker.
I've been having similar problems. I've tried posting on WordPress, but the posts are being deleted withing minutes of being posted. The same thing has been happening on Facebook and Twitter, as well as emails being deleted on Yahoo out of no where, and not being in my trash. Anything I upload to Soundcloud likes to delete itself, too. Is this a common Opera bug? It's slightly irritating to go to any social networking site or blog page and having my posts delete the second I post them.
Everything works fine for me. Did you tried to disable your Wordpress plugins? Do you use any Opera extensions?
Which version of Wordpress you use?

Hey guys, same problem here (Opera 11.60):
Clicking on the upload button (over the editor) only shows a progress bar over the page for a few seconds, then - nothing.
I tried this on my wordpress.com blog (free, thus limited and without plugins) as well as on a company blog (version 3.2.1) , which is to some degree customized with plugins and a modded theme.
Since WP is widespread I would really wish opera addresses this issue. I absolutely share chucks opinion that this could be a dealbreaker. Opera is such a fine browser in many other aspects. However I prefer a fault-tolerant browser which is capable of dealing with a wide spectrum of websites and scenarios (even if they are not 100% conforming to every standard).

I have the same problem using bodhi linux and previously with ubuntu 10.04 and 11.10.
Disabling extensions won't work for me as I haven't installed any and to be honest what are you blocking ads for if you're a wordpress user? Ads as much as we hate them are the only way bloggers can earn without having to demand subscriptions... so keep the net free and stop using ad blockers...
and Opera... get it sorted: afterall Wordpress is the fastest growing platform for self hosted sites and as browsers go Opera is the most customisable and so potentially the bloggers first choice! You are missing a great opportunity here!
