Rss "Full article" and download links on 11.60

Opera 11.60 hides the article and download urls, and if you want to see them, you have to hover the mouse over them. Is there anyway to turn this hiding off?

I would rather have functionality than "prettier" looks.

They're not hidden for me. Are you using a different skin or something? Does this happen with all feeds or just a particular one?

Upgrading to 11.60 didn't affect the already received feeds, so the old feed items still show the full urls. When you get new messages, those will show the "Full article" and download icons.

I tested with new messages.

It's supposed to only show "Full article" now. Opera was changed to do so. It shouldn't show the full link anymore. The download link should now be towards the top and say "Download". Both those texts should show next to their buttons (well images) without having to hover over them.

Nope, downloaded and tried it with USB version of Opera 11.60 and it only shows the buttons, no text next to 'em. Same thing with all the feeds I tried.

What OS, OS theme and colors are you using? I'm on Win7 with default theme and colors etc.

Maybe the css in the feed message is overriding some of Opera's default styles.

Debian and Vista. Tried the USB version on Debian and it had the default settings, Opera Unix Skin, and switching it to Opera Standard didn't change anything.

Unlikely that all the feeds I tried would have the same css...

Same here. After the update there are the hidden links.
I don't like it. It does not work for me. I want to read the links.

My husband found a way. smile

Search for the file feed.css (Opera->styles) and delete the line
ul.feedEntryAlternateLinks li a { content: -o-language-string(S_NEWSFEED_ALTERNATE_LINKS_HEADER_SINGULAR); }
or, better way, deactivate the line with a
/*
in line before and
*/
in line after.
Save and restart Opera.

Sorry, I am German... p

Thanks.

And, you can comment out the one after that to make the download link show as text:

/*ul.feedEntryAlternateLinks li a { content: -o-language-string(S_NEWSFEED_ALTERNATE_LINKS_HEADER_SINGULAR); }*/
/*ul.feedEntryEnclosureLinks li a { content: -o-language-string(S_NEWSFEED_ENCLOSURE_LINKS_HEADER_SINGULAR); }*/

If that style change works, it means you are using a language file that does not have these strings.

"Full Article" and "Download" are available in the 11.60 en.lng file that I'm using at least.

Thank you Ulrike25 and burnout426, commenting those lines out fixed it.
