Opera 10.60 changed font size in Gmail and IG

After upgrading to Opera 10.60, when I compose a new e-mail, I need to change the font size from small to normal.
I already fixed this in Gmail because there's an option in settings>Default text style:. BUT can't do that in IG( http://webmail.ig.com.br). Now what?

I'm getting sick of so much problems, everytime I make an upgrade there's a bug in the new version. It seems the older the better. confused

I'm experiencing the same problem: font size of composed message in Gmail is set to small by default, this can't even be influenced by Gmail Labs extension handling default message style.

The small fonts happen because Opera fixed bug, The bug was fixed by Google before, but now Opera has fixed it, Google has to drop there fix to get the fonts back to normal.

Google is contacted

I have a fix:

1.Create a file containing this:
.LW-avf {font-size: small !important;}

2. Save this file as gmail.user.css into the Opera folder (e.g.: Opera/styles/gmail.user.css)

3. Log in to your Gmail account. RIGHT click on any empty space and select "Edit Site Preferences".
Select the "Display" tab. Go to "My style sheet" textbox and browse for the gmail.user.css file.
Click OK, restart Opera and be happy smile

Thank you brixbrax, it seems that it works (although it only affects the CSS style and doesn't set the actual font size to "Normal"; anyway, it's just a temporary solution).

Thanks for the tips, I had spent the day worried that people might accuse me of having microphagia.. but I see now that the style is not affected by this glitch.

thank you very much for this fix. I assumed it was Gmail doing this but then checked it in Firefox.

Open Notepad (start menu, program, acessories) or Word and copy and paste this:
.LW-avf {font-size: small !important;}.

In "save as type", choose all files. And type "gmail.user.css" without quotes.

Does the patch work for you? I still get small font in rich text editing mode both in Opera 11.6 and 12 next. Worse, and this happened only recently: When I want to adjust text size by selecting the text (Ctrl + A) and then attempting to select "normal" text size, Opera freezes, and I need to kill the program and restart it. Again, this happens both in Opera 11.6 and 12 next. Can anybody confirm - thanks!

Replying to myself bigsmile

I found out that this problem relates to enabling the LastPass extension. Once I disable it and restart Opera, the problem disappears. There should be some kind of quality control for extensions, I think. LastPass was a very useful one, but if it causes troubles like this one, it shouldn't be in the wild!

Any word on whether this will be fixed? Is it Opera or Google's fault?

Still a very much annyoing issue with 11.62...

Brixbrax's ccs hack (not the Opera patch) works in the meantime before resolution. If you want a combination font size fix and gmail ad-blocker tweaked as of last week (they're constantly changing layouts) you're welcome to try this style sheet following his instructions.

But it never worked on 11.50 - 12.00 for me (XP). You had to manually set font size to normal or it would appear small.
