I agree with this. I'm an intelligent enough human being to not need previous searches suggested to me in the searchbar. I would like this disabled when I have the option disabled instead of forcing it's use upon me like I'm using Windows

Options is what set Opera apart from the rest. Eliminate the options, why use Opera?

If feature X is to be added in the next version of Opera, make sure there is an option to disable feature X.

That is to say I am in charge of technical operations at the business I am employed at. 12 of our 16 employees consistently carry out online searches multiple times per minute as part of what the job requires. Previously Opera + macro programs allowed us to streamline this process removing both time and frustration. Due to the nature of the auto-suggestion we have found it impossible to run our macros effectively and consistently. As a result we have now switched over to Firefox for the time being.
Our faith is still with Opera and we still have the intension to switch back once this problem (as well as a couple other problems) are addressed. At this point in time it's simply not feasible for us to troubleshoot these issues however.
It's important Opera understands that keeping options open ended and up to the user is the key reason Opera users are Opera users and not Chrome or FireFox users.

Still hasn't been fixed. You have lost 16 active users for the foreseeable future. I find it unacceptable that we should have to crawl forums just for included features to work, so we won't.
It's a shame, the basic browser itself is far better than FireFox or anything else. I assume the developers thought outside programmers would create enough extensions to fill in these gaps Opera has. Unfortunately they were wrong.
We still can't search the new youtube using the search bar.
We still have annoying search suggestions in the way.
We still can't have Opera automatically save all pages loaded, so no matter how I close the browser, they will always be there when I re-open.
It's just a real shame that a better browser gets put on the backburners by the majority of active users because we all recognize the same thing: If we didn't have our own jobs, we could correct these obvious problems with Opera in a menial few days of programming. It's unacceptable that the Opera has not done this yet.
