Dropdown Lists don't work anymore

Hey there.
This problems seem to be just in my profile, on my netbook Version (which is also the current Opera Version), this problem doesn't exist.
But on my desktop version, since the previous version (and also with the current one, 11.60), this happens:

  • Dropdown lists within webpages don't dropdown anymore (onclick doesn't work). When I use it just with my keyboard, they appear with the arrow keys, but when I click on a dropdown list, it just gets highlighted but the list doesn't appear.
  • The same is with the adress-field. I enabled the dropdown button, but when clicking on it, nothing happens, the list just doesn't drop down. I was looking for a point in the Config, but didn't find any.

Is there a way to solve this problem? I don't want to reset my profile folder... And as it seems, this problem is just on my desktop version of Opera. I already cleaned all cached files, but the error persists.

Best regards, Daniel

Sure it's enabled. I'm a programmer myself, so I already tried the most reasonable things.
But the adressbar doesn't even work. It's got to be a bug in opera itself. Even the dropdown lists in opera settings fail.

Noone an idea? What alternatives do I have? Backup of the profile folder and installing Opera new? Or deleting the profile folder and importing just the important things again?

You could do a 'mini-reset' first, as noted at the end of this post - a quicker test to see if the problem may be with your profile. If that does no good then (back up and) delete the profile folder and reinstall new, migrating previous settings piecemeal to determine the cause.

First: Thanks for your help, but: Did you read my post? NO dropdown works. No matter where.

@Craig
I'll test that, thank you!

of course, I've read your post smile ... but I guess write down a link is not so difficoult at all, and it can speed up the help you need.

Well an example would be google Calendar. That was the first time I noticed it. When adding a new event, you can choose in which cal it should be added. Another example is the quick search box on the right top. List doesn't show when clicking on the arrow.

Nice, I found the solution. I got a little programm installed called DimScreen, which is a tool to set the brightness of the screen quickly. As it seems the overlaying black of this tool made the graphic element of dropdowns not working anymore.
Sad, but true. Anyway. Seems not to be an error within Opera. Although I'd find it better not to use dropdowns by drawing them as a "video" window. Maybe that can be done somehow else in the next version.
