Opera 11.60 unusable with Ubuntu 10.10 and JWM

Several problems:
mouse clicks work OK, but opera sees no keyboard input
colours wrong - web page with yellow is rendered as blue
rendering has big problems - some parts OK, but large parts are greyed or black
opera crashes on exit

Worked just fine on opera 11.52.
Does anyone else use JWM bug ?

Can I have the output from the following command:

xdpyinfo

Could you also run the command:

xwininfo

and then click on the Opera window and give me that output as well.

Ok, I'll take a stab in the dark and assume you are running X in 16-bit colour mode. Can you switch to 24-bit?

P.S. We will look into the bug but in the mean time this should be possible for you as a work around. I'd be very surprised if your hardware did not support it.

Many Thanks to Ruario. Spot on - I was running 16 bit X server since my laptop is very old and 24 bit is less snappy.

I am running 24-bit X server now, and 11.60 is works very well.
The only issue I have now is that it always crashes when I close Opera. I have sent a crash report.

Thanks very much to the Opera Team, it is a great browser - I love the mail interface too. cheers

Hugh.

@hugh: did you include your email address in the crash report? If so could you send me a private message stating what it is so that I can use it to search for your crash report.
