Foolproof solution: use a text editor app to store bookmark links outside Opera Mini. Then you can still leave Opera Link turned on to sync Speed Dials, if you like. I use Memopad app on my BlackBerry.

In case it's not clear from my post: you will need to re-create your bookmarks in an external text editor and then delete all bookmarks from OM. My only "bookmark" in OM is "Feeds".
Please post here if you find a good text editor for storing bookmark links. Ideally, it should have a "view" mode, "edit" mode, clickable hyperlinks, and save files on SD card. In "view" mode you can't make any changes to the text, so you can safely use keyboard shortcuts or quickly scroll up or down the page. This way you could have all bookmarks saved in a single file. I have an editor like that, called Xplorer2, on my desktop PC (screenshot below), but I couldn't find one for BlackBerry.

BlackBerry Memopad, which I use to store bookmarks for the time being, offers clickable hyperlinks but it doesn't have "view" mode and stores all info in phone's memory, not on SD card. To backup the bookmarks I email Memopad entries to my desktop PC. Here are a few screenshots with Memopad bookmarks:
