Photo Group deleted by "owner"
The owner (Cynthia) has closed "Wildflowers", see here:http://my.opera.com/IveesWildFlowers/albums/
As it is a group she should not be allowed to close it! Members have used tons of hours making albums!
Will you reopen and save as much as possible and make me the owner?

No the owner can do anything with the group he/she has created.

Re-opening the group might not be done. But you can have some of your photos back by using cached page view of Bing, be quick-
Go to http://cc.bingj.com/cache.aspx?q=http%3a%2f%2fmy.opera.com%2fIveesWildFlowers%2falbums%2f&d=4829536462966199&mkt=en-IN&setlang=en-IN&w=d3c33d31,20c715ee
This would display your photo albums. Now go to each photo collection by following the steps below-
1. Hover over each photo collection to view the ID. For example, the ID part in URL for 'Wilde flowers from Bulgaria!' is
http://my.opera.com/IveesWildFlowers/albums/show.dml?id=3024791
So 3024791 is the ID for 'Wilde flowers from Bulgaria!' collection.
2. Now go to http://cc.bingj.com/cache.aspx?q=http%3a%2f%2fmy.opera.com%2fIveesWildFlowers%2falbums%2fshow.dml%3fid%3d3024791&d=4974878171334602&mkt=en-IN&setlang=en-IN&w=87fed9bb,b0c3d8ff and save as much photos as you can.
3. Now in the above URL, the ID of the photo collection is
http://cc.bingj.com/cache.aspx?q=http%3a%2f%2fmy.opera.com%2fIveesWildFlowers%2falbums%2fshow.dml%3fid%3d3024791&d=4974878171334602&mkt=en-IN&setlang=en-IN&w=87fed9bb,b0c3d8ff
4. Now hover on each photo collection at http://cc.bingj.com/cache.aspx?q=http%3a%2f%2fmy.opera.com%2fIveesWildFlowers%2falbums%2f&d=4829536462966199&mkt=en-IN&setlang=en-IN&w=d3c33d31,20c715ee , see it's ID and change the ID part in the following URL-
http://cc.bingj.com/cache.aspx?q=http%3a%2f%2fmy.opera.com%2fIveesWildFlowers%2falbums%2fshow.dml%3fid%3d3024791&d=4974878171334602&mkt=en-IN&setlang=en-IN&w=87fed9bb,b0c3d8ff

No, this was not my group. I was only a member with limited moderator rights. I did everything in my power to stop that from happening. I wrote every Moderator in the list of MODs, but no one could convince the person who began the group to allow someone else to continue it. I appealed to all the moderators (ten +) in a very sincere and polite way to be assigned the lead moderator there. One person actually got in touch with the person who founded the group, but they refused. They changed the intro to their album stating that they would return in the springtime.
Why did I do this (asked to turn the group over)? Well, after revisiting the group after a six months absent all the blog posts were deleted. The mail box was full of membership requests, along with why was I denied membership messages. I was shocked. I went to the person who founded the group's page and they excommunicated everyone. Many albums were deleted, as well, without notice to the member. After my appeals were rejected. I asked to please be removed from the Moderator status with the group. This is not a style that I wanted to be associated with at all.
It's very sad that this happened and without any notice to its members. It's actually created tears for me, when I visited there weeks ago and found what had been done to the group. I just realized yesterday that all the wonderful people and their precious time was disregarded in such a cold and mean fashion. Again, I had nothing to do with this. I did everything to fix that group, including writing the OC for help.
I began a new group 12 days ago "Wildflowers in the World," because the type of behavior and disregard for any member of the OC is not, nor never will be a style that I find acceptable in any circumstance. I am just as shocked as everyone is. I was up very early (5AM) the other day and saw notices in my recent activities that there was activity on a few of the albums that I frequented. When I went to visit the albums, I was shocked to see receive the error that it was no longer in existence. Apparently this person has left the OC all together without notice to any of the members. I had several photos in my album with 900+ views.
You are more than welcome to join our group. I assure you this type of behavior is unacceptable there. Please have a look and see for yourself.
I reiterate, this is why I insisted that another MOD remove me from being a MOD there two weeks ago, and I began the new group, Wildflowers in the World." I love wildflowers. However, I still kept an album there, but it was destroyed, as all as all the members' albums.
Oh, thank you for the advice on how to recover photos. There were a few I had listed there that I don't know where the original photo card is. THANK YOU for this advice.
Respectfully, Cynthia Roebuck (Cynthia23)

The person who opened this group was BitzyMe, who changed their name to VP, but both are at the "no longer a member of the OC" status. IT's extremely sad!
Here is the link: http://my.opera.com/IveesWildFlowers/about/ the person is no longer a member here.

I wrote to MrLEffe, Zephirine & Sitting Fox on November 18 asking to remove my Moderator status. My status as a MOD there was removed on 18 November 2011.
Here is a list of the other Moderators that I wrote asking them to please appeal to this person on behalf of the group: cakkleberrylane, Zepherine, Sitting Fox, Tomek_M, schmidto, phiznlil, orsomannaro, MrLeffe, FrogBoots. My apologies there were only nine MODs. I reviewed all of my sent messages to acquire this information. Please feel free to verify with any of these wonderful people.
Here is the link (http://my.opera.com/wildflowersoftheworld/about/) to the group, the first group that I ever started on the OC, "Wildflowers in the World." It began on November 26, 2011. We have 92 members, 24 albums and close to 7,000 views in this short amount of time. Why, so successful, because the group is ran on respect for its members and a love for the natural side of nature.
We welcome members from around the planet and hope to see you there.

Just wanted to add for everyone's information, Srebrina "Wilde flowers from Bulgaria" is a friend of mine and a member of the "Wildflowers in the World" group, since the day that it began. She is just as surprised as I am about this. She knows that I had no part in this.

Enjoy, there's flowers blooming somewhere.

Hope you recovered most of them. I had purposely linked to Bing cache because Google updates it's cache at a terrific speed.

Thomas, Cynthia's telling the truth about what happened here. She wasn't the owner of the group and couldn't possibly have deleted it. In fact, I think she worked harder than anyone to try to keep it alive. I don't know what happened to Bitzy, but if she deleted her account (or Opera deleted it on her behalf) is it possible that the group was accidentally and automatically deleted in the progress, being as she was still head mod?
Anyway, the future is the Wildflowers in the World, which is already looking superb

For anyone planning to establish a new group, I recommend creating a "dumb user account" first that has it's own email address as well. Then use that account to create the group. Then group moderators can share the access for that account and they can be sure the group is in no danger if any of the group moderators' account become closed some day.
Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...." And then do it. - Duane Michals
