How to remove No message selected background?

Is it in skin or in mime.css or in other place?

In skin/standard_skin.zip in Opera's program files folder, the dotted envelope is at mail/no_mail.png. backgrounds/mail_window.png is probably the background that gets stretched.

You can extract the zip file, change the images, change the name of the skin in skin.ini, zip up everything in the directory where skin.ini is at (not the directory they're in), place it in the skins folder, restart Opera and goto "shift + f12 -> skins" and select it.

In locale/en/en.lng in Opera's program files folder, you'll find the "No message selected" text that you can modify.

There are 2 svg data URIs in mail.css that seem to be for some backgrounds, but not sure what backgrounds. If you want to see what they're for, replace them with other svg data URI or image/png data URIs to see what changes in the UI.

You can create data uris via:

<http://shadow2531.com/js/create_data_uris.html>
<http://shadow2531.com/js/create_data_uris_from_files.html>
<http://software.hixie.ch/utilities/cgi/data/data>

But, I think mime.css if for other backgrounds, not what you're seeing.
