cant access any ebay site
Opera and other browsers wont open any ebay site it's like ebay does not exist . As far as I know ebay is the only site I cant open all others no problem. System is clean no malware etc not firewalled or blocked by anything I can find. Two other computers in the house have same problem, can anyone help?It sounds like something is directly blocking the eBay URLs or interfering with the DNS lookup for their IP addresses (which converts the text-style URL from your browser into the unique numerical Internet Protocol address of a website, which is what the Internet actually uses to communicate). This raises several questions:
1) What kind of ISP service are you using (DSL, cable, etc)?
2) Are your computers networked through one of them which acts as a network server or are they individually ported off a modem/router?
3) Do you know how they are configured for DNS lookup service (this is set to be done either locally, by the ISP, or at a remote DNS-service website)?
4) Are you using any kind of security software (including custom hosts files) that might black-list URLs?

Opera 12.14u (1738), 11.52 (1100) & 10.63 (3576) running on various Windows systems from Win7-64 down through KernelEx4-modified Win98FE (proof that reports of Win98's demise are greatly exaggerated).
