Probably local machine issue

I upgraded to 11.06 on a win7 machine with 16gb of ram and I am seeing weird behavior with the search bar in the right hand side. When I run a query from there it resolves to a network error "check that the address is spelled correctly" there was no address entered into the search bar so I am wondering if either the browser has been hijacked or if something else bad is happening on the machine. It is an intermittent is and I was working on troubleshooting what was happening by making a direct connect to www.google.com and running a query from there and that seems to work. Then I moved over to the search bar and the network error cropped up again. If I run the query again from the search bar it resolves to a page, then clicking on a search result link takes you back to what appears as the google main search site, however the URL showing is www.google.com/webhp?emsg=NCSR&noj=1&ei=kDLkTv1C8_vggf17bzFDA. It's very strange behavior sometimes it finds the site with no network error other times it does what I stated above. Ran a virus scan on the system drive and came back with nothing. Using Kaspersky latest AV.
So it seems to be a problem not only on just this machine, but just opera itself at this point. Other browsers work. (IE, Comodo Dragon) I uninstalled Comodo Dragon due to the fact that it pipes through Comodo's DNS and thought that may be part of the issue or contributing.

I've tried a complete uninstall and reinstall taking out all data for opera. Even downloaded a fresh copy. This doesn't happen on my linux machine with opera installed either so that leads me to believe there is something on the windows machine that is hosed. I use sync to keep bookmarks the same between the machines I have. What's really creepy is that IE on the same machine doesn't have this issue at all.

Uninstalled and cleaned up the reg. Trying again with out using the search bar. Machine has issues as far as BSODs and I've not quite been able to keep those in check. Windows not working and playing well with other software.

Looks like a registry clean up of information regarding the previous install and the deletion of folders corrected the issue. Probably caused by BSOD, however it is a little weird that the registry entries were not overwritten or reinstall process didn't correct it.

Anyway, hope that helps others.
