Hiding captions bar when the tab bar was placed elsewhere
Wide-screens are quite common nowadays, however, not much webpages were tailored for such a wide display. Thus, placing the tab bar elsewhere could fully utilize the blank spaces at the sides while saving vertical browsing area.I'm quite happy with Opera's built-in support to move the tab bar elsewhere, except leaving the useless caption bar visible. I would illustrate the current situation using a few screenshots.

^Tab bar placed top, with normal sized window

^Tab bar placed top, with maximized window
The above two screenshots illustrated the default position of the tab bar. The caption bar was well hidden and resulted in a neat layout.

^Tab bar placed left, with normal sized window

^Tab bar placed left, with maximized window
The above two screenshots illustrated the situation when the tab bar was placed elsewhere. The caption bar was just wasting spaces and have limited use. I suggest to hide the caption bar when the tab bar was placed elsewhere or at least have such an option. In my opinion, the close, maximize(or restore) and minimize button could be placed in the address bar or just hide them altogether.
Thanks for considering my suggestion. Thanks the devs for delivering such a great browser also.
Not possible without substantial changes to the existing code.
Actually, with the tab bar at the top, the Window Title bar is not hidden, it is just overlayed by the transparent tabs. Note that you can still see the minimize, restore, and close buttons, and double-click the title bar to restore the window.
Use fullscreen mode — then you can place the tabs anywhere without showing the Windows title bar.

Yes, I have access to the standard skin and know how it works.
