Adding Items to Opera's Menu
Since Opera introduced the big-O menu I have had my own version of the menu which adds three further items to the list. My menu contains a copy of the section [Browser Button Menu Bar] from the standard menu with my items added.Currently I have to edit my menu manually every time Opera is upgraded. Is it possible to use an 'include' statement so that my menu automatically includes the standard menu's items and simply adds my three items?
Go to preferences > Advanced > Toolbars and duplicate the default menu setup. This will create a copy of the standard_menu.ini in your profile (in the menu folder) - that is the one you will edit. This file won't be changed when Opera is upgraded. When you change and save .ini file activate another in preferences > Advanced > Toolbars.
This is good advice, but doesn't cover the case where the default menu has some new items in the updated version. If you have customised your menu in the right way as suggested, any new items will be missing. AFAIK the only way is to use a free utility like ExamDiff to compare the files.

My Current solution is to clone the [Browser Button Menu Bar] section from the standard menu and add a single line:
include, MyStuff
I have a section [MyStuff] which contains my additions.
The other sections of standard_menu don't need to be copied as they are unchanged and Opera automatically takes missing sections from standard_menu.ini. I was just wondering whether there was a command to include something from standard_menu.ini
I tried
[Browser Button Menu Bar]
include, standard_menu.ini, Browser Button Menu Bar
include MyStuff
But that doesn't work (you get only MyStuff).
I guess I shall have to go on copying the section from standard_menu.ini. It's not a great hardship.

Try this include, Browser Button Menu Bar
Great idea — not. Including a recursive loop will crash Opera.
