Confusing unread messsage count in mail
Since upgrading I've noticed some odd numbers in the mail list. My unread mails are correct (currently showing 7, but occasionally on launch it shows the same number as the Received count). The Received count is showing 40, which doesn't relate to anything (there are actually a few thousand mails stored in received). Not a big issue, but clearly not quite as things should be. Screenshot attached.
So, you're saying that you only have 7 unread mails total but "All Messages/Received" shows that you have 40 instead of 7 and on launch the count for "unread" temporarily says 40 too?

That's right, but the launch count for unread is usually correct. It sometimes gives the higher number, but not always.
I did the consistency check (thanks for the links), but it makes no difference. I have dragged this mail set-up across maybe three PCs over the years so if something is slightly corrupted I wouldn't be completely surprised.

Yeh, it's a strong possibility.
If you *just* have IMAP accounts (no other accounts or labels etc.) and nothing else, you can close down Opera and delete the mail folder and add the IMAP accounts back in. That will fix any corruption and you can start fresh.
If you use POP though, you'd have to do this which is more involved and not a 100% restoration.
Besides that, with your current mail folder, you could try check "show hidden" for all views and see if any new unread messages appear from somewhere. I doubt that'd help though.
Also, I'm not sure if there's a bug in 11.60 that would cause this exact issue. And, if there is a bug, upgrading to the next version that comes out (even if it has a fix) still might not fix it. 11.60 works fine for me as far as counts go at least.
Burnout, you're a star! I played around with 'hidden' messages and after a little bit of inconsistency it seems to have corrected itself. Thanks!
