Searching in long form fields, resets to top when clicked
So, I am editing a big page in wikipedia, after clicking "edit", and I search for a certain paragraph inside the text that there is in the edit form. Opera correctly highlights the words in the form. But, when i click in the text to edit it, it resets the form field to the top of the text instead of placing my cursor in the place I clicked. Then I have to search the text by hand, trying to guess by the position of the scroll bar when it was highlighted. The only way to prevent this is carefully dragging the scroll bar to trick Opera into not resetting the form when I click it.
This is a big deal-breaker for me, because I frequently edit long pages in wikipedia. This makes it very difficult to find the relevant section quickly and easily. What if i have to change all instances of a certain word in a long page? Do I have to edit section by section because I can't search long texts?
i was heavily annoyed by the same problem, so i searched the forum. looks like there was a thread on this, created a few days before yours :)

I suggest copying and pasting the text to/from notepad until this bug gets fixed.
Its not a bad idea to do that anyway — just in case you lose your carefully crafted prose by accidentally reloading the tab or something.
I have a shortcut that opens a text file (full of useful data) in notepad. I use that as a scratchpad if editing a long forum post or if I have trouble submitting it.
If you want spell-check etc., you could use a more sophisticated rich text editor like Jarte or one of many source code editors as your scratchpad.
