Problems with Hotmail
Hello-- I know this has happened before for me but no matter can i remember how to fix. I have 11.60 with xp home. Love the browser. Always have. However when I go to the Hotmail logon page while using Opera --well it logs me in okay but when I click on the inbox I only get to see the contents for a few seconds and then GONE. The screen just pretty much goes blank. I'm not speaking of the hotmail account I have in Opera --that works fine. I am meaning when I actually go to the Hotmail site , login and then try to read the Hotmail. The contents of the Folders just disappear.Sure could use some advice and would be most grateful.

Add another plus to the Turbo on solution. I've had occasional issues with Hotmail in the many years I've been an Opera user but this was the worst. Viva la Opera!

i have a mac it likes opera but it doesn't like hotmail on opera.
i've tried turbo on ... turbo off.. no difference..
i can see the mails but cannot click on them to open them..
and more suggestions???

I'm having issues with hotmail as well. Rather than disappearing, the webpage is filled in with about 100 pages of blank pages before showing the list of emails. i can access my emails after scrolling down, but i cant find most of the function buttons when trying to reply or forward a message so have to resort to Internet explorer for hotmail:(
I'm also having an issue with the topfield website. The webpage comes up as a single thin verticle line in the middle of the page. unreadable.
i have completely reloaded opera and running version 11.61

Me too. Mail in Hotmail cannot be opened when using Opera. Opera Turbo is off. When an individual email is clicked on, it looks like it's loading, and the loading process in the address bar completes, but in fact the email is not opened and the screen remains exactly the same as before the false loading process.
you can open Hotmail by adding it to your myopera mail account...You have to set up a "myopera" email account then add your hotmail account...once you open your Opera email, you'll see you Hotmail and mail inbox..............
I know..it's sort of whacked...I always liked opening my Hotmail by logging into my Hotmail from Chrome or IE9...seems like an extra step....probably a way to make us use their email too.............

I had this same problem with hotmail messages disappearing just after loading, and then not completely loading thus being useless. I tried a bunch of things mentioned here and elsewhere, but this is what worked for me: go to Opera menu, click "settings", "preferences", then go to "webpages" tab find and UNSELECT "fit to width". done. It worked for me might for you as well, or just try playing with the settings a bit. try to think if you have changed any settings recently and undo what you did. hope this helps
Hotmail opens fine, but the Hotmail Calendar is what causes a freeze. The only way to get out of it is to close the tab completely. Unable to use the Hotmail Calendar.

I started using Opera 3 days ago. Was working fine for first day and a half, now Opera looses connection with Hotmail ("cannot connect with Hotmail now, try again later"). I've tried the fixes already mentioned in this page. Any suggestions?
PS-when Opera looses connection I have to go to FF to use Hotmail, so I know it's not my net connection/computer. I've had some other problems with FF lately so am seeking a more reliable browser.

Help please! I am having the problem with hotmail not opening up emails it will actually allow me to log in, but no emails or folders will open up. I have been using Opera since 2003, and it's very frustrating when little things like this make it so hard to use it on a daily basis. I have tried the "fit to width" option and it didn't work. whats weird is that the beta version of Opera 12 does work! I have tried also to turn off turbo, (it's not on) and turn off the opera link. any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
To my knowledge, Hotmail has never ever worked with Opera. I've used it since version 7, and always had issues with it. That's why I went to Gmail.
What I don't know is whether this is the work by Microsoft, to try to force users use IE.
I can't use their new service, outlook.com, either. I can login just fine, but I can't open emails or go to settings etc. Not looking for a solution, just posting about it.
