You don't set it. You just login to an NTLM site.

Greetings, as this is the first issue I've ever had with opera, I thought I'd post it. Perhaps this has come up in an other version, however I can't seem to find anything about it using the search. Most of the program text is all crazy.

**Edit**
Ah, fixed it by changing the panel, toolbar and dialogue fonts to arial fron avant garde in opera:config.

Tuesday, 7. February 2006, 09:18:49 (edited)

woohoo! Time to see if any pet bugs have been fixed.

Right now is the best time. I've got plenty of hope that they have, and anticipation, while knowing I will be using it in a couple minutes. And I haven't yet discovered that none of that have been

After my 10-minutes test drive, it looks and feels great. And you can even scale the widgets by Num+ and Num- !

Tuesday, 7. February 2006, 09:25:41

Oh yes, thank you Opera for implementing the popup blocker I have always asked for.. being able to control it site-per-site plus including the wonderfol content blocker.

Keep up the good work, looking forward to the final version!

i think the reason for my problem is the current stage of NTLM authentication. is there a way to disable this?

YAY!!!

The Good:
  • Notifications (sounds) work
  • Browser seems faster (is it just me?)

The Not So Good:
  • small typo under advanced->history 'addresses' is mispelled

Thanks guys/gals for all your hard work!!!

Congrats! It's great to have new and new versions coming up; each one better than the previous!
I hope the memory issues have been solved with this. The previous version used to crash oftener; but then that was a preview version.

Tuesday, 7. February 2006, 10:18:18

Yes--This looks excellent --congratulations--great work !!!

Tuesday, 7. February 2006, 10:21:01

Yes!! The content blocker supports wildcards and wasn't a silly blocker just taking exact URL's.

And it seems it supports Flash as well!

If you know what you're doing, enter its "details" mode and adjust e.g. ad server matching as you wish.

That and the fixed Wikipedia CSS link bug (all links looking like external links) was the happiest things to see for me. Of course, BitTorrent support in the latest build instead of a "special" build is also very nice.

Well, a site-specific prefs UI wasn't so shabby either, hehe. There's a lot going on in this build!

In case there's no big performance hit, I'd like to be able to customize the tab preview popup delay to be quicker though. I don't want to wait while hovering; that loses a bit of the point with the feature to me.

Anyway, thanks!

Tuesday, 7. February 2006, 10:30:54

Quick first impressions are very good - the new line bug is fixed, widgets to play with, the opera:config stylesheet is much better, bittorrent is included and I like the tab previews. Thankfully the star in the address bar is no more - yay!

The one thing that I don't like is the fact that when I close all the tabs, I'm left with a blank tab. I've just closed all the tabs, so why have I now got a new blank one? I can get rid of it by detaching the blank one, and then closing it, but why can't I get rid of it by clicking on the "x" like all the other tabs? Doesn't make any sense to me ... hopefully this will be changed in a future release (or at least give me the option to specify that "close all tabs" really means close all tabs, and not "close all but one tab that is then blank")

Complex.

Well, the NTLM authentication is a start, but it doesn't authenticate yet. So, NTLM still does not work. I hope it works for Opera9 Final, Opera with NTLM was the best news I had all week.

To disable that behaviour disable the "x" on the tabs.

may be exist some tricky way?.. :frown:

See attach for sshot (widgets analog clock and calculator at right side of window)

Opera Software
Widgets will currently open using the settings for new pages. Most widgets are not designed to work without images, so that's a problem (known).

I really like all the new features!

Widgets is really something to be playing with (and develop for!)
Opacity, XForms, overall performance and usability really puts Opera more on top of the rest!

Hi Islendingur :-)
Many users get confused when there is no open window.
This won't show in pure "mdi" mode..
Go to preferences/General and disable "show close button on each tab"

+ widgets
+ site preferences UI
+ search engines UI
+ block content
+ new history panel
+ syntax highlighting
+ automatic userCSS
+ CSS for config, about, ...
+ HTML/CSS/JS improvements

- bug not fixed (http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=110359)
- still not convinced about the mail storage format
- lack of a warning when automatically importing bookmarks from 8.51

If that first bug is fixed on 9 final, bye bye 8.51

By the way, is there a list of new shortcuts/menu options, so I can import my 8.51 settings?
