thanks but maybe they will fix it so we do not get stucked into lot of browsers .

Well blow me it's about time they fixed it oops hang on a sec guess they haven't I'm still getting this msg when I try to upload a file
Sorry, SkyDrive can't upload folders. Please upload the files that are contained in the folder instead.
It's useless to use opera if for every other website i have to open firefox.

and yet Opera devs haven't bothered to fix this simple bug but oh hey look we're fully compliant with a load of garbage that hardly anyone is using yet
Skydrive works with Chrome, Fartfox, IE, Maxthon, heck even crapples Safari is able to work with skydrive do you see pattern forming here Opera is the only browser not able to use skydrive ergo it is an opera bug not MS

Just on the track-record of MS with sites that keep breaking in Opera. Though its always possible that its due to a bug in Opera, the chances are that its not. Try running the WC3 validator on the SkyDrive home page:
27 Errors, 16 warning(s)
Its their site, so they are responsible for testing the code. Such a large company could easily afford to test their code in all browsers. If the code validates, but still breaks in Opera, then we might start looking at Opera bugs as the most likely culprit.

It works with every other browser !!! It is not their bug. It is not some strange unknown site that nobody uses . Skydrive does not work for me . Why should I care about really obscure HTML feature in HTML5 and CSS4 that almost no site uses ? Just for higher score on HTML5test.com ? I want working web and don't care about benchmarks.
This is legitimate complain , I don't understand what is your problem .

Giving you guys the benefit of the doubt, lets assume that it is a bug in Opera. How long does it take to fix bugs? See the FAQ: Why does it take so long for certain bugs to be fixed?
Bugs will get assigned a priority, and known bugs will get fixed when they reach the top of the pile. Could be a week, might be a year, or maybe several years.
If you want to help, here's some Bug Reporting Tips
If its not a bug, but a site problem, how long it takes may be out of Opera's control. Whatever the cause of the problem, getting upset changes nothing other than magnifying the importance of this issue in your own eyes. When I encounter a problem that I cannot find a solution for, then I just right-click, and open the site in another browser. I suggest using another site for sharing files, or try Opera Unite. For my needs, that's much better — there is no need to upload anything and others can send me files of almost any size from any browser.

I've reported problem to MS as well. Their reply was that this is Opera's problem .
I did not attack anybody' especially Opera's devs . All I said was that Skydrive is not working with Opera for more than a year and only Opera has this problem.
P.S.: Stop telling everybody what to do . I work as software engineer. I use Opera since Opera 5 . I have enough experience and I don't need you, to tell me what I should and should not understand . Stop treating browser like same sort of religion that nobody has any right to complain about under any circumstances.

I provided proof that the site does not validate. Its right to blame MS for not testing their code. They're web site developers, right? They should validate their code and they can make their site work in Opera if they want to can't they? How hard can it be for a company with such massive resources?
Read the sticky thread again, and understand the complexity of this issue. Opera can and do make efforts to fix major sites. They provide a function to "Report a site problem" on the help menu. They provide browser.js fixes from time to time.
Instead of blaming the Opera developers for not doing anything, or not fixing other people's site code, maybe users should help by examining the code themselves if they want to get problems resolved?

If anyone has info straight from the horse's mouth (Microsoft or Opera representatives) on how to fix the issue here and/or which side should fix it, please post it here.
I think Opera loses more if this issue is not fixed (compared to Microsoft). Opera users will start flocking to other browsers or use other methods just to access Skydrive. On Microsoft's side, Opera users are just a minority of browser users - and IMO, they may think that it's not worth it to take the time to fix this. There was also previously another issue where Opera @ tagging with Facebook didn't work. Facebook did not fix that issue - Opera did.

I don't think an average user can "examine the code" themselves. You can't expect the average Opera user to be a software or web developer.

Platform x64 System Windows 7
still has the upload folders problem
luckily MS have offered a little app for using skydrive which can be had from here https://apps.live.com/skydrive
still not ideal but needs must and all that it works quite well too
basically it downloads your skydrive folders to your PC and keeps the folders in sync so anything you put in the folder on your PC gets automatically synced with the online skydrive folder

So your validation attack is worth nothing. Opera should fix this as Skydrive is getting more and more users.

Expecting Opera to fix Microsoft's site is just "pie in the sky," unless the problem is caused by a bug in Opera. I expect they already contacted MS about it, so let's wait and see what the result is, or maybe try it in Opera Next.

It's actually right to guess that Microsoft is at fault. They are known for having either blocked or degraded the experience in Opera on multiple occasions and on purpose in the past. Proof of that here: First MSN.com controversy, Second MSN.com controversy and Hotmail controversy.
Firefox 2.0 can upload files without an issue, but there seems to be efforts to make certain links not work properly (this is targeted specifically at the "add files" link and hence is an attempt to break functionality in a different browser.)
In my attempts to load the site, I also saw repeated use of "display:none", sometimes disabling these reveals the fully operational site that lies underneath them... again, seems like an attempt to block a specific browser. (Yes, there are some elements that should be hidden, but they had tagged the entire body with "display:none")
Really, standards are used simply to destroy functionality and claim "oh, but you need HTML5... download chrome/ie today." You shouldn't use the latest standards simply because they exist, you should use them because they offer functionality that is USEFUL (other than reducing serverload -.-) instead they seem to be used because certain browsers don't like them (or to encourage people to download silverlight, perhaps). I mean, if firefox 2.0 can run it then there is definitely something going on.

I would have to say it's an Opera BUG that is the cause as in 11.60 skydrive worked perfectly but once you update to 11.62 or any of the Next/oopp versions it stops working and going back to 11.60 works perfectly again..... So it's down to how the newer versions handle commands from skydrive that are borked

I just wanted to show that reffering to W3C is not specially credible, as Opera's own site has errors too.
Who's telling that opera should fix MS site? I haven't. I didn't even know that Opera owned Skydrive, as you suggest. ;-)
But i agree, If Opera Dev Team has contacted MS to have the browser work with MS Skydrive, then let's wait. If not, then that's what DevTeam should do as fast as possible.

Nobody said that Opera is responsible for Microsoft's site but Microsoft is responsible for purposedly degrading the experience in other browsers, including Opera. Like I posted before, there have been at least three known occasions where Microsoft blocked or degraded the experience of their sites in Opera and even ignored any sort of contact with them from the Opera team to solve the issues.

Problem is, that SD works in many concurrent browsers just fine. If it was MS blocking on purpose then it has to be because they have some disagreements with Opera AS, or some function that Opera does not recognize. I believe it's the latter, think of it, why should MS block just one browser?
AsI said, let's hope Opera Dev Team has adressed this with MS to fet things back to "normal" ...

Yet what we're saying is a fact. Web developers intentionally block Opera because they don't care about Opera users. Why is that so hard to grasp?

The answer is simple: If the site you want to use doesn't work in Opera, use another site. There is almost always a choice. If there is no choice due to work policies, etc., then just use another browser for that site instead of fretting about it and nagging the Opera developers to fix it immediately. They have more important work to do than fixing Skydrive. Not even FaceBook or YouTube are so important that they should drop all other development to fix a single issue.

Not sure if trolling. Stop telling other people to use websites that you prefer, instead. You previously suggested Unite, which is now going the way of the dinosaur. Next thing, you'll probably be telling us to use other browsers instead...

We post here in the Opera forums to talk about Opera issues with websites, not to ask for other browser recommendations.

No one is nagging the Opera developers to fix it immediately. This is the Opera forums, issues regarding websites and how they work with Opera are posted here. From an Opera forum moderator post:
If you are having problems with one or more websites in Opera (display errors, site features not working, etc.), you may be able to get help by posting about it in this forum (the browser forum).

Well, thanks for taking the time to tell us about your development priority, Opera representative. Wait a tick, you're not!

No. There was previously another issue where Facebook @ tagging with Opera didn't work. Facebook did not fix that issue - Opera did.
