My Opera Mail will not load in Opera, but will in Chrome

The title pretty much says it all. If I try to access the page through Opera, I get stuck on the "loading" screen, but with nothing else in the window, no side panel, nothing. If I log on through Chrome, everything is as it should be.

Any ideas? One pertinent piece of information -- I have only one message in my inbox, and that one has already been read. Could it be that's part of the trouble?

Thanks, and a Happy New Year to all.

My experience too - except I am able to open Opera mail in Firefox without any problem.

Not exactly the best advertisement for the Opera browser if Opera's own mail service opens only in rival browsers!

Which version of Opera are you both running, and under what Operating System?
You can try to clear your cache and see if that helps - but we'd rather get to the bottom of what caused it in the first place.
Thanks smile

11.60 build 1185 on Windows XP SP3

I will try clearing the cache to see if it makes a difference.

I did delete the cookies just in case that had something to do with it.

Mine is still hanging on the "loading" screen. Nothing hidden when I take a look in the accesible style either, which sometimes does turn up the problem.

Thanks,

Pix

I'm having the same problem now too... Opera 11.60, Ubuntu 11.04. It's getting stuck on the "Loading" page. Works great in chrome and firefox though. And I cleared my cache and cookies...still frozen.

I take it back...it loads now, but only after an opera restart AND clearing the cache and the cookies.

Well, I have been stuck on the loading page after multiple restarts and emptyings during the whole day today, in all browsers. Anybody confirm?

Yea I'm experiencing this too. Using the latest snapshot (11.61 build 1236 on windows 7) I also have disk cache disabled so cache is not the issue.

It worked for me the last couple of days but now it won't load in Opera. Tried all the usual stuff, like cache clearing and whatnot.

Unlike some others I am unable to get https://mail.opera.com/m/ to load in any browser. I tried with Opera, IE, Firefox and Chrome. All I get is a loading screen animation.

It wont load for me, either and I have also tried all the standard tricks. I've tried loading Opera Mail in three different browsers (IE, Chrome, Opera) and it will not load in all three.

This sort of thing is really difficult for us to debug here, as it's really difficult to reproduce.
To help us find a solution, can you please check for Javascript errors in your browser's error console when you attempt to load your mail, and email/PM them to me here, if there are any?
Thanks smile

I found I could get Opera Mail to load by using the following URL.

@ marianh:

As foolish as i may sound, i can't seem to find the "Tools", believe it or not! Still though, when Opera Turbo is enabled, email opens as it is supposed to.

iDammian: could you try disabling Opera Turbo and see if it breaks again?

If it does:
- Press Ctrl+Shift+O (which will bring up the Opera error console).
- Select "JavaScript Messages" from the bottom left drop down list, and reload the page.
- Copy-paste the errors you see (if any).

Thanks smile

On May 2nd I could not get to my Opera inbox after several attempts over several hours----"loading"----even though I was logged in. At 9:30pm I opened Google Chrome (which I never use) and Opera email opened.
