Please restore the star in the address bar
It was a very useful feature. Now I can't say if the current site is bookmarked or not. I have to check my long list of bookmarks. Again - it was useful.Tuesday, 14. February 2006, 09:02:27
You can drag a such button from here, where Shoust posted it:

Just click click on 'Star' and it will be added to your custom button collection.

The star in toobar is not as good as the star in address bar. The star in address bar can use space of browser fully.
yes,Should be allowed to control show/hide the star button in address bar.
I hope the Opera developer consider my suggestion.

Title: "Get rid of the Star in the Address bar"

People don't know what they want!

Then after a while they'll add a second button receptacle on the right end of the address field, and the "RSS" or "radiator" whatsit will become another draggable button. It'll be on by default, but people who don't want it will be able to abolish it. Same with the security lock icon, and maybe even the favicon in the address field.
Voila, totally configurable address field.

Button, "Highlight bookmark"="Highlight bookmark, , , , "Bookmark Visited" | Add to bookmarks, , , , "Bookmark Unvisited""
Maybe someone would be kind enough to post it as a button link?

To those who remember the 7.5(?) previews, and the updates to the panels, this will be familiar process.Opera is slowly converging on what we all want. First no star, then star in address field, now star as a draggable button that can be placed next to the address field. The final step is to make a button receptacle inside the address field, then you can drag the star there and it will be just like it used to be.

i really like the star too
I think it would be best to put the star back with the option to remove/disable it
that way everybody wins! the people who want the star can have it enabled and the people who don't like it can disable it.
