-- More information on blog/album hits...referrer info (did they find my post on Opera or did they find a link at someone else's blog?), unique visitors, etc.
-- Ability to re-order photo albums on page (if I add a new album, it goes to the top of the list but I might want to keep a specific album always first)
-- Ability to select which elements I wanted included on blog page (I dont really want my photos being slideshow-ed next to my political commentary, thank you).
The Friends page seems kind of useless, unless a user only wants to link with Opera Community users.
Otherwise, very nice service.

- Direct linking to IRC channels in your links.
I want links to IRC channels to be clickable. Check out the IRC channel list in my links page to see what I mean: http://my.opera.com/eyeque/links .
- Easy rearangement of page elements.
I want to sort elements on my page with ease. I want to be able to drag and drop link-boxes in the sidebar or have a move up/down link on each box. This would probably be useful for the about page too.
- Setting element behavoiur in the page.
http://my.opera.com/eyeque_community/links/ . See that feed from my blog? I want to be able to switch elements on and off. I mean post title, text, images and so on. And I want to be able to choose which photo album the slideshow in the sidebar should use as standard.
- Forum.
I want to be able to add a forum to my blog just like with a group. I'm using a group as a forum at the moment. It would be less hassle if the forum was a part of the blog.
- Slideshow in photo albums.
I would like if there was a slideshow function in the photo albums.
- Custom links in the navigation bar at the top of the page.
I want to be able to add my own custom links to the top navigation bar. Blog, Archive, Photo album, Links, Friends, About, <Custom links>
This list is getting very long so I guess I'll stop here. Even though I see Opera Community's "My page" as the best blog service around, it's still possible to do lots of improvements.

The ability to order the links shown on the front page. Right now they are in the order created. Could there be a function similar to Links, where you actually CHECK a box to indicate which albums you want displayed on the front page sidebar?
BLOG:
Ability to edit date/time stamp once a new post is created.
ABOUT:
Field to add SKYPE contact info (similar to AOL, MSN, Jabber, ICQ)
Gee, I don't want much, do I?

Also I think that edit date of blogs and arrange photo albums like joni says could be very useful.
Greetings to all

Stuff that has already been said but I'll add my voice :
>>> Skype field in ABOUT -- Just one more field
>>> Referrer Info -- Very useful
>>> Drag-Drop Rearrangement of my Sidebar, or at least a move up/down button or something.
Stuff of my own imagination...
>>> Being able to post just plain text on the sidebar, like a sticky or something, but on the sidebar.
>>> Being able to post a poll on our sidebar.
Like eyeque said, my list is getting too long. I'd like to commend the opera team on what they've done, but there's still place for improvements, to make this the best blog service ever.
Yes, it is possible.

I have really missed a better possibility for managing private, uploaded files.
I think Tamil's wish is my number one wish.
(I don’t know how much of this is already included in Opera 9.)

I have a ticket assigned to me which says «file upload system requires overhaul».
So, it is noted, and will be acted upon, although not necessarily soon-ish.. :/

Custom links in the navigation bar at the top of the page.
I want to be able to add my own custom links to the top navigation bar. Blog, Archive, Photo album, Links, Friends, About, <Custom links>
this one is good.
but i want to add more:
it would be good to have posibility to rename these items (to use them in my native language).
2.
In My Files, Sorting of archives by file name & size, Renaming folder and files, Moving files from one folder to another, Deleting multiple files & folders, Viewing only selected folder in archive & Uploading a zip file and extracting it.
deleteing folders (directories) is also a good idea (like everything else)
3.
ABOUT:
Field to add SKYPE contact info (similar to AOL, MSN, Jabber, ICQ)
also good idea.
4. Posibility to get personal messages from anyone (anonymous)
5. Post date dependence on timezone

Right now (and this is something that's gotten progressively worse, imo) is that the whole Community seems to have become less stable. I have no idea what this is down to, increasing numbers of members, perhaps? But know that over recent weeks I've seen more time-outs and loading problems than I'd like.
I know this is a free service you're running here, so appreciate what you're giving at the minute; but it's ever more tempting to go back to things like Flickr when I upload a bunch of photos in a zip file, and only half of them appear in my album and I'm greeted with a server error message.
Report Inappropraite Content
I've seen a lot of blogs that are filled with porn, spam or a mixture of the two. Now, whilst I know certain staff that can take care of this issue - I'd be nice to have a 'report' button which will take us to a form to fill in, explaining the reason we thing OC is being abused.
Visitor Stats
I dont know how this would be possible; but since you display visitor/hit stats for people's blogs, would it be possible to share a bit of extra information with bloggers about their blog? Maybe get in touch with Hitslink and see what they can do for letting bloggers see more stats - like referring urls, countries, keywords, etc.
Backing Up
This is kind of a question, rather than a request - but do you guys have anything in place to back up what's on the server? I mean, I've a lot of posts, and a lot of photos on there. Some of the photos I've uploaded I've lost on my computer, so the copy on Opera Community is my only copy of those precious photos. If your main server were to die for xyz reason, do you have all my posts and photos backed up to revert to?
If so, would it be possible in future for me to download backups of such things. Maybe the ability to download a photo album as a ZIP?
Send as e-Card
I've talked about this once already, so there's not much point in repeating it. View the original post here.
Hire me.
I really want to be paid to sit and improve an online community in ways and means I see fit. It would be wicked! I want to make some new design(s) for the Opera Community homepage. Okay, I know it's been updated recently - but I think it needs more work. It's not quite right - things dont run consistantly enough across the community at the minute.
Plus, I want to work at Opera one day.
I was going to take some time off work and apply for your internship this year. However, decided against it because of my girlfriend. She pleaded with me not to apply for a job at Last.fm because I'd have to move to London - nevermind moving abroad to work for Opera.

The last few weeks have been quite painful, to say the least. We have had a database backend solution which was not optimal from the get-go, and it has become progressively worse as we have gained more users and traffic.
Luckily we have ordered new hardware for a radically different approach to the database backend which we hope to have up and running in about three weeks' time. This will free up the servers we are currently using as database backends to something else. For example dedicated album upload servers.

Aye, it is a free service, however that doesn't mean it is supposed to be broken (I can easily agree that parts of the site currently is broken). I'm hoping to have dedicated boxes for photo album uploads soon, which should make stuff like uploading and editing more efficient. Currently, many requests will time out due to somewhat overloaded hardware.

We agree that this is needed, and it is a recurring theme in discussions, although we haven't gotten as far yet. There are some issuses with the design of these things (we don't want to give users the feeling that they are constantly monitored by some gray mass of BigBrothers).

This is a recurring wish, so we'll probably do something about it eventually.
