Please improve the search functionality in Bookmarks and Notes.

Currently searching bookmarks and notes don't really allow searching for selected keywords. Demonstration example for bookmarks:

1. Go to http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4718724.stm and bookmark the page, note how the page description is "The UN's human rights commission calls for the immediate closure of the Guantanamo Bay prison camp."

2. Search for the exact phrase from the description, human rights commission

The bookmark is found

3. search for human commission

Now the bookmark is not found.

It would be a huge improvement if random keywords could be used instead of exact matches. That way the bookmarks descriptions would become a very useful tool in locating a bookmark, providing that one uses a good description of course. Not to mention how much easier it would be for those of us that have a hundreds of notes (I have something in the range of 500-700 notes) that can be quite cumbersome to go through, in search of that particular note made weeks ago.

I am linking to http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=125216 as I think that might make this thread easier 'for those who came in late' to this discussion. Anyway, you have my vote for the improved search support.

Opera searches for the whole string as one, instead of considering each of those words as different.
I prefer word separation and using "" for sentences, just like any regular search engine.

As my previous posts indicate, I have already made my wishes felt regarding Opera and information management/search capabilities. Let the M2 'revolution' resume!

InfoHandler 10 + Google + Endnote + deli.cio.us = great stuff; not perfect, but great stuff.

Also currently Quick Find don't search by folder name. cry
So, we need in addition to current...
search by:
  • folder name
  • description of bookmarks and folders
  • nicknames of bookmarks and folders

Please, make it happen in 9.0 wait
Mail: 9.27 • Primary: 10.63 (has annoying UI regressions: inability to detach tab normally, passes source file w/o extension to external editors) • Secondary: 11.64
