Future browsing

The only reason that i got signed in this community is to give some feedback for the browser. It's the best i've used so far mostly because of the Opera Turbo feature that allows my other computer to open sites that no other browser could. It quickly became the browser for the main pc.

I have a problem though. Being Greek and writing in a forum about mobile phones i quite often have to change language (to English). I also change from uppercase to lowcase and use the Ctrl-C/V/X combinations. Here is were the button combinations of the browser interfere making it a real nut breaker. I would like to have a list with those and the ability to chose which of them i would like to work. Adjusting my own shortcuts would be a blessing.

I also have the habbit to search in various sites. I search for goods at Skroutz, reviews at Youtube etc. I would like to be able to put the search of those sites, where, the search of the browser is. And quickly change between those engines with the scroll wheel when the cursor is at that box. I don't care much about the time that it will take to get me to the site. I'm mostly interested in simplyfing the orders that i give to the machine.

The most wanted feature (and the most impossible to get) is to view many sites simultaneously. Small browsers in the main browser, a matrix of content. Watch something at the Youtube, play a game at Kongregate, while waiting for a answer from a buddy at Facebook. Screens are getting bigger. Mine's 20 inches but it can easyly get to 24'' or even more at a future purchase. Using all the surface would be great! And adjusting the content to the windows size even better...

It is quite clear that this is more of a wishlist than feedback, but this is how i would like to be my browser to be in few years. And i know i can't expect much from Mozdila (stall) or Explorer (copycat).

You can create your own searches via the right-click menu on the search input fields.

1) Edit your shortcuts as Pesala described
2) Creating a dedicated search could not be easier in Opera. As schemestrom says:
Go to Skroutz, right click on the search text field, click on "Create Search..."
3) +1 Tile windows is OK if you want all of the windows. Otherwise its a bit fiddly. And no way to drop other windows in or out.
Functions required,
  • Choose layout type 2x2, 1x1, 1+2, manual etc.
  • Place web page (tab) into each tile.
  • Drag the tile boundaries to resize the tiles.( gaps/overlaps do not happen)
  • Replace/swap tile page/content as required
  • Save the layout/url grid as a bookmark.

Currently, I never tile the windows as Opera always does something I don't want.

Thank you all you all the replies!
I didn't went on the shortcuts, cause what i found was rather intimidating: so many shortcuts i seemed too much trouble to make any attempt to chose what i need or alter it, from that big list. Learning them wasn't very attractive either.
But the Search part! What a time savior! I no longer have to search and then enter a site just to use it's engine!

Thank you very much people!

I think something like this should be good: select tabs with ctrl or shift + mouse click (like in other Windows programs), then right click and select "tile those tabs". This would also work on tab stacks.
Opera 12.10, Windows 7 x64;
Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz, 4GB RAM.

I agree with you. Would be a great feature.

I created a topic a few weeks ago to improve the tab tiling, (http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=1337232) and proposed some solutions, but yours is even simpler and would be enough.
