HTML5 form input date picker starts on Monday, not Sunday (can I change this?)
Is there any way to change the display of Date Picker (the calendar popup widget) for form input elements that are date data-types?The Opera Date Picker week start defaults to Monday. While this may be common in Europe it is extremely uncommon in the United States (outside of some businesses, though none I've ever worked with). Perhaps there's a way for Opera to sniff the User's Operating System and match the week-start setting there?
This is a major usability issue for me because some users are spatial and expect Wednesday in the middle with Saturday and Sunday at the ends. In a hurry (which I can assume) it's very easy to mark the wrong date. In fact, I spent two hours marking the wrong date while testing a form -- granted the date wasn't as important -- before I even noticed that the week-start was Monday.
As an alternative, perhaps the weekend could be highlighted? (Saturday and Sunday both. I note that my version highlights the Sunday but that's an unacceptable solution because I merely assumed it was marking the end of the week.... which is Saturday in the United States)
It's far too easy to make a mistake using the current layout. I hope there is a way to specify, otherwise I'll be forced to disable Opera's Date Picker in favor of a Javascript implementation.
