Risk of falling asleep at the wheel apparently. Weird thing is they let him keep his driving license and he still drives a car.

But it was the Dr's decision there and then and he had to go and tell his employer. I just thought it odd that he was allowed to keep driving a car. As surely if there is a risk then it shouldn't make a difference if he was driving a car, a bus or a motorbike.

They are all against the law here anyway except for eating an apple, though they have talked about making that (eating) illegal too. Some people are even trying to push for smoking while driving illegal too

Was that verified? We never heard any more about that accident over here other than the initial reports when it happened. I think there was mention of the driver possibly changing a DVD or something. Whatever it was it was a needless loss of life.

Tried to watch that video of complete history of the Antikythera mechanism that you gave the other day.
Wrong time as far as my internet connection is concerned as it's crawling at a snails pace.
Had a problem the other day with any time we used the phone I lost my connection, happened 8 times in the same day. Found the problem to be a filter so replaced it but because of all those disconnects it apparently triggers a switch at the exchange as a possible line fault. So now I'm on crippled speeds until it decides that things have stabilised and I get back to normal speeds. Not happy about that at all.

No worries, if you go to my blog you will find all the videos on my side bar and under the 'Links Tab', the first 3 are about 7 minutes long, the last two are 50 minutes and one hour 15 minutes long. They are all good quality.
Just found myself at a loose end today with not much happening and not expecting any distractions either. So it was a good opportunity to watch it without any interruptions. Typical!

I'll give it another couple of days before I contact my ISP again. Thankfully is it's still decent enough speeds for normal web browsing, just not good enough for watching videos unless you like watching them where they are constantly stopping and starting.

That's the exact sort of package those who are lucky enough to be in a cable area get. My sister being one of them and she barely uses her internet connection.
No option for changing providor though as there is only one company (Virgin) that do it over here.Be helpful to the shyman, and be wary of the slyman.

I've seen snow here in the first week of June once in the late 60's so maybe it's time for a repeat of that, though I hope not.

Apparently Tornadoes are five times more likely to hit Britain than the United States I would never have thought that possible if I hadn't read it.

"In the US they can be half a mile wide and have winds of up to 300mph at the outside," said Dr Holden. "But in the UK the largest would probably be a few tens of metres wide, with winds of up to 120mph. In the US they use Doppler radar systems to detect them, which we don't have at all in the UK."

Has to get noticed somehow I suppose.
I'm still surprised we get them here, it must be over the border in England. That would account for them going unnoticed.

Of course we did.
We get used to the regulars being around and it leaves a hole in our lives when someone is missing.

Possibly, not sure if he has a phone or not as I'm sure if he did he would post something about it.
