Are you performing this via gprs, 3g or wifi ?.
Opera 12.14 - 1738 (Portable 32bit) on Win8 Pro, Or portable versions of Linux Mint 14 or Puppy Linux Upup Precise - 3.8.3.1
3g.. With same network and settings i can download download more than 1GB with other browsers but not with Opera Mobile. It always say too large entity or like that..
Do you have Opera Turbo (in settings) enabled ?, If so, Try disabling it.

hello again :-)
i just attempted downloading a 4GB+ file from http://software.opensuse.org/121/en
and it seems to be working for me. I cancelled the download after about 25MB though, no point downloading a linux iso on my phone ..
So, 4GB+ downloads fine using opera mobile on my device.
I'm doing this over WiFi, my mobile data plan is pretty expensive :-(
But since you've said your fone downloads large files with other browsers, i guess this isn't an operator induced problem.
I'm almost out of ideas. Where do you have opera installed? Phone memory or Mass memory or on an SD card? Could you give us a link which doesn't work for you? Does this happen only with certain websites? Or is this a perpetual problem? Could you try the above link and let us know if this doesn't work as well? Do you have access to a wifi network, to test if it works on wifi ( it probably won't, since it's probably not an operator issue, but still worth a try). For the record, i had opera turbo set to 'always on' while performing the above test

i have installed opera on mass memory which is 8gb with around 5gb free. This happens every time i try to download more than 1gb file from any site..and sorry friend i dont have access to wifi ): even downloading the above file failed with same error ): guess i should use the other browser to download those files.. Anyway thanks for answering. I appreciate it
awww, too bad.. which smartphone are you using? someone else here using the same device could try to re-create the issue, just to make sure this isn't a compatibility problem or a device induced limitation. It might also help to make sure your device is running the latest firmware
