Read-only messages in Opera mail
I am getting a message that some of my messages are read-only.It is probably related with gmail IMAP account.
Here's the way i can reproduce that:
1. I open Opera in the morning. Read the "Unread" messages and hit Delete on some of them.
2. Click on "Received" messages. And then back on Unread. "Voila" i have the deleted messages back in the Unread and when i try to delete them i am getting this message:
Is there a way to fix this?

That's weird. I'd closed down Opera, right-click on the mail directory, goto "properties' and make sure the read only box is totally clear so that the folder and folders and files in it are not set to read only.
If that doesn't work, since it's an IMAP account, you can just delete it and add it back in.
If that doesn't work, you can close down Opera and delete the mail folder and add the account back in. (Keep <http://my.opera.com/operawiki/forums/topic.dml?id=1162442> in mind if you also have feeds and POP accounts etc.)
You can also check the database for good measure.
You can also download the Opera installer and use the "standalone installation" option to install to a folder on your desktop. Setup the IMAP account in it and see if you have the problem. If you still do, then somethings wrong on the server probably. You can try in Thunderbird also to confirm.

I have this error on a regular basis and it is always connected with my IMAP accounts. Restarting Opera helps but is annoying. The error is present for some time now. When I remember correctly about a year or so.

Would there for a long term solution ?
As It seems frequently my mail folder is read-only checked.
I admit I swap the index.ini & opera.win files between some of my computers to preserve the filter setting. (IMAP ACCOUNT)
Hope some solution other than deleting IMAP account & add back.

I would investigate why that happens so you can prevent it. Or, when you sync, see if there's an extra command you can run or something to make sure the folder and all its file are not set to read only.
