Hi there,
Are you referring to the Opera browser's built in mail client, or web-based mail such as mail.opera.com or operamail.com?
Can you please explain in a little more detail what happens when you are "booted out" of your message in drafts?
Which browser are you running?
Thanks in advance!

Operamail.com has several shortcut keys for quickly moving from screen to screen. It sounds as though you may be accidentally hitting one or more of these shortcut keys as you compose a message.

For example, if you click outside the text entry field as you compose, and then hit the "m" key, you will go straight to your inbox, and your current message will be turned in to a draft.

To avoid this from happening, make sure your mouse cursor is always inside the text entry field before you start to type.

If the problem still occurs even after following these steps, let me know.

Thank you so much that seems to be it. i had shut off shortcuts but it does appear they remained active. i can live with that but if there is a way to disable them that worked that would be nice.
thank you again

Great news, I'm glad we solved it!

You should definitely be able to disable your keyboard shourtcuts though.
Options->Account Preferences->Keyboard shortcuts [OFF]

Can you double check for me that that checkbox isn't checked? It's working fine for me here right
