Opera Link Bookmark Deletion Problem

I've looked around some on the forums here as well as through Google to see if I could find a solution for this, but I cannot. I apologize if this issue is in a topic already, but I am stuck wondering if this problem is affecting everyone or if it is only in certain cases.

My issue is when I go to my Opera link page I am unable to delete bookmarks. I've used Opera for years and when I reformat my computer I commonly back up most of my files. Recently I decided to try out Opera Link and after activating it I'm seeing a LOT of bookmarks (as well as Speed Dials, although they were able to be removed) that I cannot delete. When I click delete it redirects me to my trashcan saying that there is nothing in it.

I intend to continue to use Opera link but would like to be able to clear out unnecessary items from it. If I go to my bookmarks I can see all of them naturally, but if I got to manage bookmarks it only shows local ones. Can someone direct me to a topic solution or let me know if this is a known issue? I'm using the most updated Opera Next but also even logged into my Opera Link page on other browsers to try and delete as well.

Edit: A few things I forgot to mention was that my Opera is successfully synchronized and that my error console doesn't show anything pertaining to my Opera Link page. If there isn't something obvious that I'm missing I don't have any issue with you looking into my Opera Link files to help find a solution.

I'm posting back as Opera updated for me within the past day or two and I am still having the same issue deleting bookmarks on my Opera Link page. Everytime I try to delete one it only redirects me to the trash page but says it is empty. There are no changes to my bookmarks or anything. I am able to edit the bookmark though and add/delete to its URL and such, but the delete on that page as well doesn't work. Can someone please let me know if this is a known bug or if there is something I am doing wrong / a workaround?

Nearly another two weeks have gone by and I've even tried Opera Next v12.00 and still have no success in deleting Opera link bookmarks. Can I get some type of information on if this works for anyone, as I know mine just keeps redirecting me to the trash, but never moves anything there.

We're sorry to hear you're still having an issue with it. All I can say for now is that we haven't forgotten about this, and we'll handle it.

I'm having the same problem. I'd like to keep using Opera but this issue makes it difficult and irritating. Two months on from the last comment and you haven't fixed it. Back to Chrome for me.

Can I get another response on the status of this issue? For me it's been more than half a year and the same issues still sit as they are. It concerns me that I have tried everything and still no solution, and there has been no information pertaining to this issue. I have a very general guess on what is causing it, but it is Operas end that needs to fix it. All my Opera Link stored bookmarks that won't delete are from other PCs (hard drives to be exact) and I'm assuming that Opera is not able to remove it because it wants to see those other PCs delete the bookmarks.

It's probably not right or poorly worded, but in the end it comes down to the delete feature in Opera Link (for everything) is not working. Is it not possible to just, you know, delete it =(? I am on the edge with Opera as I've had quite a few issues (albeit in Opera Next) and I've been using opera for probably 7-8 years now. Support is huge for me and I'm hoping that this gets looked into.. for real this time ;\.

1st sorry for my bad English!
i found how to bypass the problem.
1. Choose "Synchronize Opera" and the "Configure..." in the opera browser menu. Then choose "Disable Opera Link" radio button and click OK.
2. Go to "Bookmarks" in your opera browser menu, then choose "Manage Bookmarks...", a new tab is opening with bookmarks settings
3. If you have "ghost" links under your folders in the bookmarks, just click in the open space under the folders (left panel, somewhere under the trash icon). You should be seeing those "ghost" links in the right panel now.
4. Mark and delete unwanted bookmarks.
5. If you want to delete bookmarks into the folders, just do so (mark and delete).
6. You can turn your opera link back to on ("Synchronize Opera" -> "Enable Opera Link"). You shouldn't have the deleted bookmarks in the "Opera link page" anymore nor into the "Bookmarks" menu of opera browser.

=0. I definitely appreciate your information, stanata. Especially since it is your only post here and it takes time to put together a good guide for people you don't even know xD. It did work perfectly and for the most part all it seems to take is to delete those ghost bookmarks through Manage Bookmarks while Unsync'd. Hopefully your help also helps Opera fix the issue itself. Thank you again greatly =D.

in 3. by stanata does not show any ghost bookmarks. Yet I have a lot on Opera Link. I note, it is folder with $ in the name which cannot be deleted. Perhaps Opera (or the old versions of Opera Link) cannnot manage special carracters. The only solution is to delete account. Anyway because of bugs with bookmarks I am off Opera long time ago. How people can use a software which does not value user's data and ignoring bugs for years?
