Upgrading from Fedora 15 to Fedora 16
I've been a Linux user for many years. It's the only OS we have installed on our home PCs. I began using Linux back in 2001, starting off with Mandrake (now known as Mandriva). Over the years I've tried many different Linux distributions and have now settled on Fedora for the past three years. It works really well on our netbook PCs.But what recently impressed me about Fedora was my experience upgrading from Fedora 15 to 16. It's been a long time since I had such a smooth and problem free upgrade. I think the last time an upgrade ever went so smoothly for me was back in the days when I was using Mandriva (pre-2007).
For this upgrade, all I had to do was install Fedora's "preupgrade" package then run it. Then I sat back for the next two and a half hours and let it do it's stuff. When it was done, the system rebooted and I then logged in to my account; and there I was, flawlessly running Fedora 16 with a new version of KDE (4.7.4).
Nice job, Fedora!
I still adore my C64
