I can confirm this and because of it, this build (1312) is next to unusable.

I can only say "Finally a build where this happens more often and not only for a few of us" to this.
So I keep my fingers crossed that this will lead to this particular little bug being caught and killed in the end :-)

Confirmed. Windows XP SP3. Though the issue does not occur everytime - and I can use Opera Next for my tasks.
Windows 7 SP1 x86 edition and Windows XP Service Pack 3.
If you need any help from me with regards to Opera, please make a comment on any of my blog posts.

Im just curious, it could be a coincidence. In trying to reduce the cpu, I read on another thread to disable upnp, so I did, but this morning I reenabled it and I havent had the error since.

While browsing, DO NOT PUSH OK in this error message, simply tap in the Opera window and continue.

Yeah I had it happen on a point other than exiting for the first time with the latest build and was able to happily finish what I was doing while ignoring the error.

I'll have to try and capture some Process Monitor logs to see if there's an obvious point at which it can happen during exiting.

Problem still exists with 1325. It may be a problem with the extension manager, or something related. I get the problem occasionally using when ImgTip v1.5 popups an image.

Also having the issue. Win 7 64 Bit, Build 1328. I'm not using hardware acceleration.

I've found that it happens when I switch from my mail tab to a webpage tab. Not everytime, but still reasonably frequently.

I don't have the same issue on my work PC.

Since I'm not sure if this is a problem in Opera or if it's caused by a corrupted installation of a given version of Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime(s), try reinstalling the latter to see if it fixes the problem.

1) On Windows, press Win + R, type in appwiz.cpl and press Enter or click OK;
2) Uninstall all instances of Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime, if any;
3) Download and (re)install the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtimes;

NOTE: For 32-bit (x86) versions of Windows, install the x86 versions only. For 64-bit (x64) versions of Windows, install both.

4) Go to Windows Update and search for any updates related to the runtimes.
5) Install any updates found.

Now try using Opera Next again and check if the error pops up again. If not, then the problem is now fixed (at least for now). smile

I said I wasn't sure that was the issue but it could solve it since the installation(s) of Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime could be corrupted. If that didn't work, then the problem really lies within the Wahoo builds of Opera and is thus up to the devs to fix it.

Same here... I was using normal Opera and started getting some weird errors... And so I downoaded Opera Next and another error comes up.
But in my case it happens while I use Opera, not when I close it.
So when the C++ notification comes up, I just minimize it and continue smile

If it happens across different versions of Windows, but with the same version(s) of Opera, then who is to blame?

You know, there's a stable, final version of your favourite browser that runs smooth.

I second that. That's why Opera made Opera Next--so you can install it side-by-side with the stable version of Opera.

The fault is happening with Opera as well as Opera Next, though. For personal web use, I have chosen to persevere, and wait, hoping for a resolution to this problem in the near future; however, I can understand users choosing to use alternatives while they wait. For my work related web use, there is no way that I could use Opera or Opera Next as my primary browser, at this time, as I need to be able to work without interruption, particularly when engaged in real-time communication with potential customers, customers, and colleagues.

That's very concerning if it happens with the stable version also. I wonder if Opera Next is causing problems in Opera. I would try uninstalling Opera Next and then doing a clean install of Opera.

Having said that, since installing build 1360 of Opera Next I haven't had an issue (yet). They did confirm the error as a known issue in this build, so I wasn't expecting the problem to go away.

I think it happened to me once on 1347, but I seriously doubt that Next has something to do with it since it's a separate, portable install.

I'm aware of this solution, thanks. And this are big winning-points for the opera-crew. Which other Browser offers such a well-thought-out concept of a developing and a stable version. I appreciate that.

Actually in 1360 the Runtime-Error seems to occur a little less than the previous ones. A pity, now the plugin-wrapper does its best, to freeze opera.
In private surfing, I'll continue using my 'favorite browser' an I hope, my many crash-logs will help to improve reliability smile
But as well-said before, be careful with Next-Versions in productive/ business environment

Both Chrome and Firefox offer a similar way to install stable and development builds.
