Dragonfly for newbies
Hello!I'm going to update news, pictures and other content in an already exsisting site. I was recommended to use Dreamweaver. I would like to use Dragonfly instead, but I don't know how to start. When I press Ctrl + Shift + I, I see the page code, but how could I change it and save the changes???
Now I can't edit the content, because I'm still not authorised. But I can't see any option to enter full-rights editing mode via Dragonfly. How could I obtain rights to edit the web-page and save the changes???
DragonFly is a debugging tool, not an authoring tool. That said, you can change aspects of the DOM by double clicking on elements and then you could save the changes by running a bookmarklet along these lines (its actual purpose was to show the generated DOM quickly when DragonFly was still years off):
You could then copy that and save it.
Anyway, I'd advise BlueGriffon instead of Dreamweaver. Not so much due to any quality concerns or something, for I have no idea what the latest version of Dreamweaver is like, but because BlueGriffon is free and Dreamweaver is over $100.
javascript:(function(){location.href='data:text/plain;charset=utf-8,'+encodeURIComponent(document.documentElement.outerHTML)})()
You could then copy that and save it.

Yeah, Dreamweaver is "only" $399,00.
Since a month I'm a Mandriva Linux user because of the ACTA-SOPA-PIPA-IPRED idiotisms. Neither M$ nor any other evil and greedy corporation will not receive even a cent from me ever again. I'm a government official and of course I use licensed Windows XP SP3 at work, but not for long. When I advance enough, I'm going to teach ALL my colleagues how to use Linux. I'm very curious who'll buy ANYTHING ELSE by those thieves and miserable people after a couple of years.
