How Do I Make Opera E-mail Client Add New Addresses to Address Book Automatically?

Previously the addresses of those I replied to were automatically added to my address book in the Opera e-mail client. But now it doesn't happen anymore. Maybe due to the new version and/or a different setting. The old addresses are still there, but I haven't found the option to set Opera to remember new addresses in the latest version.
Any help would be appreciated.

On the outgoing tab in the account's properties is "add contacts from sent messages". If it's still checked, I'm not sure what's up. Opera hasn't removed the feature or anything.

Please explicitly state what version of Opera and what OS you have. Also, please explicitly state whether this is with an IMAP or POP account. And, if the former, please explicitly state whether you have one of your IMAP folder set as the sent folder on the IMAP tab in the account's properties.

Thank you very much.

I hadn't recognized it, as in Dutch -translated into English- it uses "relations" instead of "contacts." I didn't connect the two as meaning the same thing.
It's fixed now thanks to your tutorial. smile

O.K.

Besides the imperfect translation to English, is the Dutch wording itself correct for Dutch?

Yes, "Relaties" is correct, strictly speaking. But "Contacten" would have been more directly understandable, at least to me.
"Contactpersonen" -"Contact persons"- is a bit redundant, but also used. I would use "Contacten."

In general the Dutch translation in Opera is excellent.

Thanks. It's probably fine. But, others have confused me a lot talking about "relations" where I didn't get what they were talking about at first. Contacten might indeed be better.

There is a distinction between "relaties" and "contacten." We have family and business and/or work and friends "relaties" as we are related to them, but we might not have been in contact with them for a long time. I have family members -uncles, aunts, cousins and nephews- I haven't seen or spoken with in decades, so I wouldn't call them "contacten" as I haven't been in contact with them. But as family they are "relaties" as we are related through blood. Likewise I have friends I haven't seen in years which I would still call "relaties", but not "contacten."

But people I email with are "contacten" of course, as I am in contact with them, even if it would only be sporadically in some cases. Or even those I was in email contact with once, but would like to keep in my address book because I might want to contact them again someday.
So indeed "contacten" would be better, as all "contacten" are "relaties", but not all "relaties" are "contacten." bigsmile
