I dare to say: This will never be implemented in Opera.
Unlike the video formats specified in international standards such as MPEG-2 and the format specified in the JPEG still-picture coding standard, there is no document that defines a single exact format that is universally recognized as a complete specification of “Motion JPEG” for use in all contexts. This raises compatibility concerns about file outputs from different manufacturers.
Because it's not standardized and obviously every manufacturer uses his own special version of M-JPEG. If it works with one M-JPEG, it's not implied the viewer will work with other M-JPEGs.
Opera usually only implements open standards which M-JPEG isn't.
There seems also to be no need for it as other formats are more efficient.
Opera never been famous as "standard" browser, usually it was showing ugly versions of sites. Now it is better, right.
Actually it is possible to see mjpeg stream but with bad flickering. Why you even show it if you dont support MJPEG ? What I can see Opera supports MJPEG but it is very buggy

There are no other format that browser can support. HTML5 can't show streaming video without plugins. Only Safari can do this with proprietary tag.
Can too, but only on Ogg Theora.

Seems to me it's more a case of a regular JPEG renderer getting confused.
