Labels mess up how to fix it ?

Hi all,

I am not sure if it was due to mail database maintenance or so, I found my 30 labels are ALL messed up.

i.e.
Label 1 = rule contains 'label 1'
Label 2 = rule contains 'label 2'
and so on until
Label 30 = rule contains 'label 30'

It messed up like email label email with word label 30 in label 1. and somtime in label 2. ....etc.
or, email with word label 1 in Label 19., or other labels.

Hope to fix it ?

Thank you
Edmond.

The option "learn from labelled messages" is/was disabled? There was any problem with Opera (crash, hanging, etc) recently?

The label's rules are set up in a way that prevents a message to get more than one label?

Remove/change the wrong labels from the messages and see if the problem will happen again.

Thanks & the only way to correct this is doing what you said above., but is hugeeeeeeeeee pain as you should know talk about labels x 30, each label with 3+ rules so many copy & paste job.

I was trying to see if any better quick method to fix such hugely corrupt label (Index)

I did not do "learn from labeled messages" & probably was some crashes caused it.

Thank you

Do you mean that in the properties, "match messages in" is set to "Label 1" instead of "All Messages" and it's like that for each of your labels?

Or, do you mean that in the text field for the rule in the label's properties, the string "Label n" is there? If so, that's weird.

I noticed that 95% of your problems are caused by corruption.

If you're still getting corruption, you need to start with a new mail folder or you'll be stuck with corruption forever.

If your system still isn't stable, you're going to continually corrupt Opera's files.

*If* your still using an old version of Opera, you're going to miss out any fixes.

Editing the rules in index.ini with a text editor while Opera is closed might at least be faster. Probably best if you just get started on it now instead of wasting time looking for something faster.

Text field = Label 1 (message body)

So, on Label 1, it should filter whatever email body have Label 1 in this label.
So, on Label 2, it should filter whatever email body have Label 2 in this label.

Problem Opera occur is, in Label 1, found email body with word Label 2 in this label (in Label 1)

Anyway, no problem. I hope it would not be happened agian.......

Thanks all !

Hi,

Labels corrupt seems continue.............

I created a new label, it surprised me that this fresh create label seems corrupt & some unexpected email keep showing up in this label when the rules set are not for these unexpected mails......

I checked the index.ini is:

[Index 245]
Name=BF 2012005150 Shantou
Id=200000276
Parent Id=1600000004
Mirror Id=0
Type=2
Flags=3
Special Use Type=7
Keyword=
Account Id=0
Model Type=0
Model Age=5
Model Flags=221
Sort Type=4
Selected Message=0
Update Frequency=10800
Last Update Time=0
File=folder_200000276.idx
Skin Image=Mail Filter
Search Text=shantou
Search Field=2
Search Current Message=3269
Search Start Date=0
Search End Date=-1
Search Option=2
Search Operator=0
Search count=3
Search Text 2=shantou
Search Field 2=11
Search Option 2=2
Search Operator 2=0
Search Text 3=Concorde
Search Field 3=11
Search Option 3=0
Search Operator 3=0

My rules set:
if subject line contain: 'shantou'
if message contain: 'shantou'
if message contain: 'Concorde'

I just right click to check labels property, click okay to close it. Those unexpected mails all of a sudden pumping in in this label. I jhave to highlight those unexpected mail & choose remove from view. (I have done it several times in the past as it pumps in sometime in sudden)

Would any bad corrupt trace left in index.ini in this label position [indes 245] ?

Thank you.

Perhaps Id=200000276 refers to an old entry that's stuck in the indexer.

I'd delete the label and create another one. Keep trying till it works. If it still doesn't work, try the same thing in a standalone installation. If it still doesn't work there, it's something with the rules that Opera doesn't like.

Is it also kind of workaround if I do this:

right click the mess up labels -> Properties -> option tab - check the box of: 'Apply rules only to new message'

I have been trying other ways but no success, each time I updated the lables, un-releate messages poping in into the labels....etc.

Thank you
Edmond.
