crash while deleting mail accounthi,
yesterday while deleting a mail account opera crashed. now i have the problem that this mail account has not been deleted completly. it does not appear under "email and chat accounts" but in the panel on the left side where you can access all other mail accounts. if i try to click on it, it will cause opera to crash.
i tried to delete everythink i could assign to this account in the mail folder but it didn't change anything.
how can i completly remove this account?
Just back up your mail folder first before trying that just in case.
Then, things should be cleared up. If you still see a section in the mail panel for the account, you'll have to close down Opera and edit "index.ini" in the mail folder. You'll have to delete the index for that account (if you can find it. try looking for it by email address or name). Then, update the index count at the top. You should then decrement the index numbers for the indexes that follow the one you deleted so that the index numbers are consecutive. But, you might be able to get away with doing that.
Again, copy the mail folder to a safe place first so you can restore it just in case you mess up something.
That should take care of the crash though I'd think.

It's possible that there's still stuff stuck in the indexer files and database. I wouldn't worry about it.
But, if you experience corruption later on down the road, you might want to start with a new mail folder. If you *only* use IMAP, it's often as easy as deleting the mail folder and adding the accounts back in. If you use POP though, you'd have to do something like <http://my.opera.com/operawiki/forums/topic.dml?id=1162442>.
