Very slow internet in Opera
Hi,I have a problem with Opera 11.52 where my internet connection suddenly go very slow. It happens every now and then and I don't know what triggers it. Checked with speedtest and got that I have 0.88 Mb/s down and 0.05 Mb/s up as this link shows http://www.speedtest.net/result/1847891022.png
I instantly went to open Firefox to do the same test and got whole other numbers, that say I have 11.18 Mb/s down and 0.87 Mb/s up http://www.speedtest.net/result/1847877793.png
There are very big difference on the ping times too. I run Window 7 64-bit and please don't say I should upgrade Opera to 11.60 because then this problem is constant and not something that shows up a few times a week.
I'm greatful for any help or ideas on what can be wrong here because I can't find anything.
No difference between speeds when I checked with Opera and firefox.
Are you using turbo by any chance? as that is designed for use on dial-up connections and will actually slow down your speed if you are on broadband.

I have the same problem. It got Much worse after downloading the last two updates. I'm presently on Version 11.62. It appears the longer I am online the slower it gets.
I've tried clearing all the cache history ect and that appears initially to make a difference and then it just got slower and slower, with pages taking up to a minutes to fully load all the data.
What can I do ? Any Ideas. Hopefully I'll get more responses than the last person . . .

There is something wrong with Opera now. I got the same problem, much slower if u compare with Firefox, IE or Chrome. Its not a little problem u can see many of the users of Opera says the same. Don't know what they doing and now i must surf with Firefox instead. Many pages takes long time until it end loading and yes its big difference between Opera and Firefox. U can load the same pages at the same time and the page in Firefox shows the page much quicker. U can also give Opera a advantage and still not first, thats fukking strange, always seen that Opera was fastest but now its something strange with the browser.

I am experiencing the same problem as you guys. Beginning with this Opera 12.0 official release (build 1467).
When using speedtest.net and the same speedtest server between opera and IE9, opera will show 7-8mbs download speed and a ping time of 24ms. IE9 will report a solid 25mbs and ping time of 16 ms - the latter values being consistent with what the former Opera 11.xy install were showing.
What's going on with the v12 release? Are the developers aware of this issue? I was an Opera fan until now, please don't make me return to other browsers!
I highly suspect the issue is cause by this new out-of-process isolation feature, which makes the plug-ins (such as Flash) to run from a separate process, names opera_plugins.exe.
Is there a way to disable the out-of-proc feature?
It's a shame that this is happening...
