I want those pixels back (Opera 11.62 Win32)

Hello, first things first - Opera is a very good browser, have been using it for more than 10 years now on Win32.

Unfortunately by switching from 11.61 to 11.62 there is a minor displaying glitch that bothers me a lot:
The adress bar is now displayed some pixels more in y direction as it has been in 11.61.
I want those pixels back for displaying actual web page content.
Is there a way to change this back to the old behaviour, maybe via opera:config?
If not, please add it or give me another workaround!

Here is a picture of what I am talking about (thanks Pesala for your help about the pictures)
Please note that I use "Opera 9 standard skin for 10.50"

And no: this is NOT skin related, without any skin there is the same difference here on Win XP SP3 between Opera Win32 11.61 and Opera Win32 11.62.

I don't see any difference here. The standard skin is still very slim — my favourite DTA skin is considerably bigger.

Let me see ... you sure they didn't modify the skin? If you actually copy the old skin to your profile you could check ...

The only strange thing I notice is that the search field is actually larger than the address field by a couple of pixels. The bottoms don't line up, though the tops are fine. Anything else should be padding in the skin.

The described difference is even present if I compare 11.61 with 11.62 WITHOUT USING ANY SKIN!

How can you not use a skin? Opera ships with a default skin (called Opera Standard), if they have changed that skin it would cause what you're seeing.

i don't have this problem. i think it's skin related. maybe it's a new default value and all those skins who don't override it get the bigger spacing you see.
try different skins and see if that fixes it.

To the original poster, Just out of curiosity, What do you have 'Icon size' set too in 'Appearance/skin' (bottom right of the window/dialog) ?.
Opera 12.14 - 1738 (Portable 32bit) on Win8 Pro, Or portable versions of Linux Mint 14 or Puppy Linux Upup Precise - 3.8.3.1

Well that is strange: the issue disappeared by itself without me changing anything manually....

(The icon size was and is 100%, didn't change anything)

However, my skin changed it's name and is now called "Opera Classic Fixed" - as said I did not change this by myself.

Well, don't know how but everything looks as it should again and although I don't understand what was going on I am happy after all.
Thanks for your help anyways!

Thread status: problem solved ;-)
