Forgot password, can't fix
Hi,I forgot my password and can't fix it. I found several post on Google, but they don't work. They all keep asking
for my password, how am I suppose to enter it if I don't know it? Any one that can help will be greatly
appreciated! Recovery mode refuses to work, couldn't find recovery mode on any live disk.
Thanks!
You forgot your password for what exactly ?.
Need more info, If you care to provide it.

Opera 12.14 - 1738 (Portable 32bit) on Win8 Pro, Or portable versions of Linux Mint 14 or Puppy Linux Upup Precise - 3.8.3.1
Well firstly this is in the wrong part of the forum, Guess it would be more fitting posted in the Linux part of the forums.
But then again, Your problem is not specific to, Or related to Opera browser software. Your problem may be best posted over at the Ubuntu forums, As it is actually related to the operating system instead.
But then again, forgetting your sudo (administrators) password is possibly going to end up with you having to
re-install the entire operating system, If you do indeed wish to install further software in future, As far as i am aware.
Give the Ubuntu forums a try, They will more than likely be the best place for your problem.

Password to install software in Ubuntu. Thanks for answering!
P.S I use Ubuntu 32 bit.
Where can I find it, do you have a linux link to find it? I used their search engine and it showed no software like that. Thanks!
There you go http://ubuntuforums.org/ Official Ubuntu forums, just like Ubuntu's web page says http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community
Moved this thread to right forum since, this hasn't anything to do with Opera.

Not familiar with Ubuntu live CDs, I know that Mandriva/Mageia does have an option on the disk for this.
Mind you, it's a live disk. You should probably be able to open a console and do it that way ... but then again you might be able to do it without any disk too...
At bootup, press Escape to get out of the graphical menu, or maybe they have something on the screen for adding optional parameters? If you add a 1 at the end of the boot command, it should put you into single user mode (which is text-only, but requires no password). Since you'll actually be the equivalent of root, you may be able to reset the password without having to enter the old password. (Note: you may have to actually delete the password, since attempting to change it should ask you for the old password.)
