YouTube video upload doesn't work in Opera

Platform: Linux
System: x86_64, 2.6.37.6-0.11-desktop

Log in to YouTube and select the upload video button. You can select the video file to upload, but the upload never actually starts.

I'm having the same problem. Can't upload on YouTube with Opera anymore! Opera used to work but Opera 11.62 won't upload. I had to use Firefox to upload and FF uploaded fine.

Anyone got a fix for Opera?

Seems to work if you masquerade as Firefox. Right-click on page, select Edit Site Prefereces, then go to the Network tab and select "Masquerade as Firefox" in Browser Identification. Reload and try again.

Wonder what Opera changed that caused it not to upload on its own anymore on YouTube?

Might be something that Youtube changed in relation to using Opera with the website, so it might not be something that Opera itself changed. Browser sniffing and changing the website for different browsers has, sadly, a very long history.

I have the same problem with current versins of Opera (11.62) on both Mac and PC. Unable toi upload youtube videos. I will try masking as Firefox as described. Thanks.

I just tried to upload video to youtube, and can't do that, even masquerade as Firefox doesn't help.
I tried a new and old upload page, no one is working.
I use Opera for linux 11.62 build 1347.

But from FF all works fine.

Like you, I also use the Linux version of Opera.

OK, I tried again, but this time I couldn't get it to work despite what I wrote above. Something does seem to have changed at Youtube since then. However, I set up a virgin profile (in an xterm I typed "opera -pd /dev/shm/.opera" {note that /dev/shm is sort of a system ramdisk whose contents gets wiped at shutdown or when unmounted; you don't have to use the location I used, you can use a physical disk location if you want}) and after setting up Masquerade as Firefox as my browser identification for Youtube, it seemed to work fine. Odd! I tried replicating all the site settings in my usual Opera profile to correspond to what I had with the virgin one, but it still didn't work (Youtube said there was some problem with the server: "The server has returned an invalid response. Please follow these steps and try uploading the file again."). So, something in my normal profile seems to conflict with Youtube, seeing that a virgin profile seems to work fine. Now, if someone can replicate what I did above and if we could find out what that setting is... Then again, maybe it's time for a clean profile.
