Opera Mini on iPad - Content blocked by provider.

hi
I'm a long time user from saudi arabia ,I have been using Opera for 3 years on my pc and mobile phone and recently I bought me an iPad hooked it up on a subscription plan from Mobily Telecom and hated the safari browser so I downloaded the Opera Mini browser from the App Store but you see when it was done installing I couldn't access not one site on the internet not even Mobily.com.sa which is my provider's homepage.
The error message I get when I ever I try to connect to any webstie is "Connection Failed:Content blocked by operator."
So is it my browser's problem or my provider's?

Thank you all
-Abdul

Since it is saying that the content is blocked by operator, that means your provider is blocking opera mini from accessing the opera servers. You should contact your service provider about that.

Try Opera Mobile. It uses website's own servers. You may be able to view this page via Opera Mobile. It's available on App Store.
Operating Systems:
Microsoft® Windows® 7 Ultimate (x64)
Microsoft® Windows® 7 Home Premium (x64)
Microsoft® Windows® XP (x86)
Google Android™ 2.3.4
Google Android™ 4.0.4

Browsers:
Opera 12.15 (x86 / x64)
Opera for Android™ 14

There is no opera mobile for iPhone or iPad. Apple doesn't allow any app with any rendering engine other than Safari‘s and Opera mobile uses Opera's own presto engine. Appstore only has opera mini.

Thank you so much for clearing this out , I will contact them and ask.
But first would you enlighten me on why would my telecom provider block "Opera Mini" ?

As for the exact reason why your service provider is blocking opera mini, I don‘t know that. But then if you search the forum, you will see that many countries like Iran has blocked opera mini. Sometimes it is their policy or sometimes it is purely by mistake.

could you type debug: in address bar and provide few details from that page:
(top section)
Host
Version

(middle section)
http
remote
branding
client version
time

(bottom section)
Campaign
Operator
Country

Yeah, Go back to your previous network provider, Or contact them and ask them why they are blocking Opera Mini.
Opera 12.14 - 1738 (Portable 32bit) on Win8 Pro, Or portable versions of Linux Mint 14 or Puppy Linux Upup Precise - 3.8.3.1

Or comply with ministefang's request to verify if opera mini remote is blocked by operator or not.

If you have version 12, then it's Opera Mobile you're using, not Opera Mini. smile

Probably not... I just noticed the version number, and 12 is not an Opera Mini version. smile

Hey, irked
How's it possible?
Opera Mobile does NOT EXIST for any iOS device!

What's the extension and size (MB) of that file?
It might be:
Extension: .apk / .sis /.sisx / .cab?
File size: 13.95 MB or different?
Operating Systems:
Microsoft® Windows® 7 Ultimate (x64)
Microsoft® Windows® 7 Home Premium (x64)
Microsoft® Windows® XP (x86)
Google Android™ 2.3.4
Google Android™ 4.0.4

Extension: .sis
Size : 8.5 MB

it works for few minutes and then I get a message says : Memory full the app will be closed ! I guess the problem is with my phone .. although I formatted it be4 2 months and it hasn't too much app !

Thanks

Hi. It's mvthakar.
You may be wondering that I'm not mvthakar but my account is banned by a mistake. I've requested for restoring it.

Return to the topic:

@ isrra94: Sorry, I didn't know because you haven't mentioned about it on thread.

Well, I also had faced several problems like you on my earlier Nokia phone. That's why I switched to Android. "Out of memory error" is common on Nokia phones.
Phone : LG Optimus Spirit
OS : Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread
Browser: Opera Mobile 12.0.3 and Opera Mini 7.0.3

I am too on the Mobily network, and Mobily is blocking Opera Mini, may be because Opera Mini can access all the blocked content.
Fortunately,
Sawa is not doing so.
If you want to access the blocked content, switch to Sawa.
Or else download Opera Mobile.
I am not sure if Opera Mobile is available in App Store, but it is available for Android users.

I'm from the US and on Boost Mobile. Opera mini on my droid started doing the same thing to me today. I tried the debug thing mentioned in an above post and it's blocked too. Not too big of a deal to me as long as opera mobile will still work (dont know yet - will try after this) but I figured since Im in another country and on another provider alltogether it might help someone figure this out.
