Opera slow start up

Hi,

I have had problems with Opera for a while regarding startup.

When I start Opera it will open the speed dial then freeze for about 5 seconds (sometimes more) with a "not responding" message in the title bar if I should click on it or anything like that. I can't write URLs or anything like that during this time of course. I have about 20-25 dials in speed dial at any given time so it shouldn't be all that demanding.

It's a considerably slower start than Firefox, Chrome or Internet Explorer on my system.

The problem has also followed me on two of my last systems. The previous system was a Core 2 Quad at 2.4 GHz with 8 GB RAM and I thought maybe it was getting on in years so I didn't think much of it. But I recently got a very fast system (Core i7 hexa-core at 3.3 GHz with 32 GB RAM) and the problem still persists.

Any takers?

I have the same problem, but I think that's because I have quite a few RSS feeds to check.
It also can be e-mail checkup.
The only think I cannot understand, why it (RSS checkup) cannot be done in background?

I had the problem when I've used a separate email client as well as Opera's built in. Also, I don't subscribe to any RSS feeds.
