Last Flash player update make Opera lag like hell

Hi, guys. A couple of days ago the latest version of Adobe's flash player was released. As usually it brought more pain than gain. XD YouTube is more or less unusable. Every time the focus is or leave the video window, the video and the whole Opera lags like hell (not that I know how Hell lags wink). The lag is constant when I scroll over the seekbar of the video (with the latest feature: thumbnails of the (key?)frames in the video). I presume this will be hopefully fixed by the next update of the flash player but until then any suggestions for a workaround are greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
RB

Thanks for the advice, but I've already thought about. I really don't want to play with the versions (had a bad experience once). If there is another way, I'm opened for suggestions.

Actually I found out what the problem is. It wasn't Adobe's fault. It was Opera's fault (and partially YouTube's). For an unknown reason my HTML5 mode in YT was enabled (didn't do it myself or maybe I did but just don't remember). Anyway Flash still sucks, but not as much as I thought. It's Opera and it's performance with HTML5.

Sorry for all the fuss. But as I mentioned - Flash's performance remains terrible as usual and I have a strange feeling that it get's worse with each new update. Oh, well. As far as I know Adobe threw the Linux version of its Flash player out of the window and Google Chrome is now the only browser that will get updated Flash player. Let's hope we see some decent HTML5 (videos) support in the near future. smile

I wouldn't use HTML5 mode on youtube anyway. Opera stops playing the videos halfway through.

Well, I never had such a problem. It was the interaction with the video that caused all my problems (hovering with the mouse over the video frame). I disabled the HTML5 mode and now everything is fine (as far as 'fine' is appropriate to describe Adobe's Flash player bigsmile).

It's possible it's only on certain videos that a lot of us are running into that you're not. It might even be something messed up with youtube's webm files and not technically Opera's fault. But, all is good in Firefox.
