desktop type site/ mobile type site with the same link
Hallo,There are several ways to get to a special Internet site:
1. Typing into the address bar "mobil.dastelefonbuch.de" I get the mobile type site of "DasTelefonbuch.de".
2. Creating a favorite/ bookmark/ Speed Dial button made via MS-Word as html-file with some links in to different web sites; there the link "mobil.dastelefonbuch.de" leads to the mobile type site as well.
3. Creating a Speed Dial button via "manage" linked with "mobil.dastelefonbuch.de" I get the desktop type site of "DasTelefonbuch.de".
I'm using Opera12 on my Nokia E90. The user agend always is set to mobile.
I prefer option 3. but I like to get to the mobile type of the site.
Is there anybody able to explain why it works like it does? Do I something wrong or is it a bug?
THX

Yeah, sorry, I read that. It was 02:00 my time.
Could be lazy coding on their part. We used to get mobile content wherever we went, with Mini or Mobile, just because the ua said "opera". Still do at gmail.com - for me at least. Have you tried telling dastelephonbuch.de about it?

Hi Dennis,
up to now I didn't contact "dasTelefonbuch.de"; I think it's not their problem, I think it's a problem of the browser.
In different ways I get different results with the same settings. So I think it's a question of how the cell is identified by the site. And the information how the cell should be identified (desktop v mobile) comes from the cell/ browser.

I think this bug is related to the one discussed here: http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=1374492&t=1335987841&page=1#comment12198792
