And secondly, I would like Opera not to disconnect after loading a single page. And don't anybody tell me it is not the browser's issue, as you can find in the Net a modified version of Opera 1.2 with such option built in. What's the problem to implement such functionality in, let's say, Opera 2.1?

Don't tell me you can't do that: in 2.0 this icon is displayed more highly than in 1.2 and is blocked by the scroll bar, so you can control it some way.

I start saying that mini is the best software I have ever seen on my mobile. I use it everyday and now, I love it
Now here a list of wishes:
- secure connection in order to manage my paypal/ebay account without any problem.
- Tabbed browsing, up to 3/4 tabs. I know that device memory limit is a problem, but with modern devices 4 tabs is possible.
(My Moto V3x have 2Mb of heap mem.)
- RSS Support like Opera Mobile 8.6
- PDF support to read simple text pdf
- Support for personalized skin
- For the far feature, JSR75 support should be awesome, with this API's we should manage download directly from Mini.
- Signed version, probably Verisign certificate should be the best supported certification, but I know that signing mini will drop the compatibility with many phones. If you will ever decide to sign mini please don't forget that Moto needs a particular verisign certificate
This is all but the most important thing is that you must know that we love Opera Software

Opera can't do that. This globe is out from the java environment.

Read what I wrote before. Opera CAN change the globe's position, it CAN overdraw a half of it by the scroll bar, so 2-3 strings of code could solve this problem. Perhaps it can be moved out of screen or be overdrown by something. That's what I ment.

I've read but you're wrong.
As I told before this globe is out from the java environment and it can't be overdrown.

Opera Mini don't have access to contact list. Minimization is supported only by Sony Ericssons and smartphones, so it can't be available in official opera mini build, just in mods.
P.S. To call a number you may enter it, for example, to your my.opera.com homepage, call and then delete.

The fact that it is sometimes partly overdrawn is rather a freak bug in the phones JRE/JVM than a feature in Opera Mini. Also, we can not change the position of the globe, that it changes between Basic and Advanced is simply because advanced runs in fullscreen.Well, Opera doesn't draw this icon, but I can see a half of it overdrown by the scroll bar right now. About signing Opera Mini, take a look at the post below yours; you can't sign a midlet for all the handsets out there since they use diffrent certificates.

- Horizantal viewing *Landscape* (For phones like the SE S710a and others that can do this)
*This is the #1 most awesome thing I could ask for. Especially with the swivel screen on some of the new Sony models. (I realize this isn’t a big issue for Opera since us SE users are a small group)
- I was gonna say minimize option but I guess you're not allowed to do that either since its mostly for SE folks.
*Sounds to me like we need an SE edition of Opera Mini=) I would even pay for a few of these features!
- The ability to pick any of the divided pages.
If there are 9 it takes to long if I know I want to go to page 5
- Move your Opera Icon or something. In Opera 1.2 I never saw that Globe in the top right corner that people are talking about. But now in 2.0 it appears and since it covers your logo it just looks funky.
- The ability to use in-browser plug-ins (video player, music player, flash player etc etc.)
*This obviously takes much more work but it would be awesome and this is a WISH list=)
- Ability to download attachements from emails.
*Since stupid Cingular forces users to go online to use their Phone Emails instead of letting us use the in phone email client sometimes I need to download attachments and Opera Mini doesn't allow that.
- A bar showing the Phones connection status.
*Sometimes when a page takes a long time to load I don't know if its because my phone has no bars or because the page is really big. A connection status bar would be nice.
I am sure there is more but truthfully I am really happy with Opera and these things would just be cool to have...

What MOD is this and where?

It seems all SE phones have this 'bug'. Others don't have that icon at al. There is a way to remove it, the price of question is just a couple strings of code.

But it is there. I can take a SS when I get home.
If it helps. I use Cingular w/. and unlocked & unbranded SE S710a

(1.) i'd like to see page up/down scrolling via the keypad, the better to give my toggle button a well deserved rest as it's probably the most used button on my phone
(2.) I'd like to see OM have the ability to decipher pdf files, as opposed to having them downloaded to my phone, which lacks a pdf reader.anyone know of any java apps out there?
(3.) rss readability would be way cool. because OM 2.0 offers file downloads (semantics be damned) and because most,if not all podcasts exist as a mp3 file in .xml format, i would think that an rss reader could mean direct podcasts to my phone, instead of going through ifeedyou.com of course this would probably be network dependent as i cannot download mp3 files at all w/my t-zones plan but i'd sure pay for the plan upgrade if you guys could implement this
speaking of pay, at the risk of being branded an apostate and having a fahtwa called against me,.if opera engineers would be able to include these things and keep it to a managable size, it'd only be fair to have it as a premium service (say a one time purchase of $19.95 w/free upgrades natch.) or having the choice of free classic OM. (not including wish no.1 though, that seems to be a pretty basic feature)

Sometimes while browsing i accidentally press the end call button which exits the application. It would be nice if it asked if you want to exit, that way one wouldn't have to restart it and just continue with what you were doing.
Also, if it could remember certain settings on startup such as full screen. I always browse full screen but have to put it like that every time

It seems efenili's phone (S710a) also supports to remove the icon.

There is a way to view pdf on almost every phone. You will need a gmail account. Download a pdf file, then send it to your gmail address, go to m.gmail.com and find your letter. Gmail will convert pdf, xls etc to html. Enjoy!

Have your ever seen applications that don't exit immediately when you press that button? If no, then, I'm afraid it is as impossible as asking 'do you whish to exit?' when you plug off the battery.

1. Jsr 75 support for downloads with resume feature and simultaneous browsing. I think Jsr 75 can also allow us to upload files into emails and forums. . This would be supercool:)
2. Ability to download email attachments and file attachments from forums. . Perhaps this can be done by using the same method that opera mini employs to let us download pictures i.e. By caching the file on opera server. 3. Extract text from pages and copyin it to clipboard or send it as sms
4. Ability to send bookmarks via sms
My other wishes have already been mentioned above;)
Perhaps its not a BAD idea to have an se edition of opera mini

My wish list in order of priority:
1. Support secure https connections so can safely access bank, PayPal accounts, etc. from mobile.
2. Ability to send SMS, MMS without the need to Exit/End Opera Mini.
3. Support WAP sites without the need to call native browser.
4. Remember full/normal screen modes.
5. Incorporate adjustable backlight timer.
6. Clear cache option.
Keep up the great work Opera!

However, it would be even better if the operamini user agent header (Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/2.0.3920; en; U; ssr) included the name of the device.
This would enable web developers to design better mobile optimised sites with content relevant to specific devices as is already possible with WAP based browsers.
It would be good to plug this gap!!
cheers
