How to view Fastmail/Operamail account in My Operamail

Hello,
wen setting up my new My Operamail account I could not import or add my old Operamail/Fastmail account--is there a way to do this? Or, do I have to open my old Fastmail account in a separate browser window to view any emails sent to this account??
Sorry if this has been asked before and answered but I searched and found no results.

You should be able to add a POP link to your accounts through Settings -> Accounts.
Let me know if you need any more help smile

Hi Marianh,
yes, that's what I thought, however when I access My Opera mail account/Settings/Accounts--and try to add my old Fastmail/Operamail account it just says--"hmm, that didn't seem to work" with no Error message reference or any info--tried several times--even tried using my previous password, along with my current password with no success; I did think that it would add my old Operamail account seamlessly but I was wrong.
I can't give you any more details because that's all I have.
Thanks for replying, though.

Hello Marianh,
thanks for your reply--however, I have tried to add my old Fastmail/Operamail account as an additional account but it just gives me the message--"Hmm, that didn't seem to work", or similar. I have double checked that I am inputting the correct account info, etc.. and I did.

Could it be that you have "Disable POP access to this account" checked in your Fastmail/Operamail Account settings?

I have just gone to Options in Fastmail/Operamail and both the POP and IMAP boxes [ Disable POP/IMAP Acess to this Account] are unchecked--in fact, I first checked the POP box and then Unchecked--just in case this was the case--I have just retried to add my Fastmail/Operamail account--same response--'Hmm, that didn't seem to work--check your email account settings....'
Frustrating, eh.
Thanks for your input, though--maybe we'll get there somehow.

UPDATE--
I have jst received an email from Fastmail stating that--'You have tried to use our SMTP service--this is not pernitted at your level'--which I have received in the past when trying to configure Operamail to be accessed from other mail accounts--I presume that this is still the case and, because I am not a paid Operamail/Fastmail subscriber--I will not be able to access my Fastmail account from ANY other account--including My Operamail---is this the case??
If so, sorry for wasting your time--I did think that the 2 accounts would be automatically linked, though.

Ah you seem to have solved the mystery! Yes, "Guest" and legacy "Member" accounts do not have POP access. However you can instead use IMAP instead, or upgrade.
Please do not email me directly unless requested to do so. Thanks!

Many thanks for your help; not quite sure that I understand how one would 'use IMAP instead'--would this allow me to add my Fastmail account to My OPeramail accounts--so as to be able to view the emails from my old account in the same place as my other email accounts? Or do I just view my Fastmail in a seperate browser window??

IMAP access is not possible through the My Opera Mail web interface at the moment. You would have to aggregate all of your accounts to another client if you wish to view them all in the same place.

Marian, what does "...at the moment." mean? Is IMAP access planned for Opera Mail? I am a longtime Fastmail user with an "Enhanced" account, and as is the case with many regular Fastmail users I use only IMAP. With IMAP being the recommended account type for Fastmail and with Opera having purchased Fastmail a few years ago, I would have thought that IMAP would be a core feature of Opera Mail. (I thought wrong apparently!!)

Thanks!
