opera mail in iPhone.

Hi there!!

I wanted to ask please if this is possible to use the built-in iPhone's Mail app in order to access to the opera mail account (mail.opera.com) using POP3/IMAP protocols.

I tried to do so in the past but it failed.

Thanks in advance!!

Did you see the Welcome message when you first accessed your account? It tells you how to set up IMAP access (sorry, they don't have POP3 access). Any mail client that supports IMAP should work.

We provide both POP and IMAP access to your My Opera mailbox yes It's up to you which you prefer.
I'll create a sticky with the server details in the forums, since they're quite hard to find if you don't have your welcome email anymore!

IMAP details:
imap.myopera.com, port 993 (SSL)

POP details:
pop.myopera.com, port 995 (SSL)

Outgoing server details:
smtp.myopera.com, port 465 (SSL)

We don't auto-configure accounts for Apple Mail at the moment, so you'll need to manually enter the details above. Be sure to authenticate with your My Opera Mail username and password smile Let us know if you still have problems, and we'll do the best we can to help.
Please do not email me directly unless requested to do so. Thanks!

Hi there!!

Thanks you about the detailed information you've kindly shared with us. Just more important question: are free users (not premium) also can access to mail.opera.com through an email client?

Thanks in advance!!

There are no "premium users" for My Opera Mail, yet. No idea about future plans, but there's nowhere that they list "upgrades", so currently everything is free.

Unfortunately, I tried to configure my iPhone's mail app with the above provided settings (and with the IMAP protocol) but it prompt me that either the username or the password is incorrect. Does anyone have an idea what's the problem?

Thanks in advance!!

Use username@myopera.com (in your case, ataryosef@myopera.com) along with the same password you use for the forums.

I did it, but although I entered the same password that I use in the forums, it still report me on incorrect user data. I've no idea what the problem is…
