Getting RSS feed icons, tag list etc in side-by-side mail view?
So, I basically like the side-by-side layout for mail list and mail view. However, I absolutely need to be able to see what's a RSS feed, what's a mail, and some of the labels at a glance, just like in the old layout. Is there a way to get the additional information from the old layout into the new one?
Welcome to the My Opera community!
I think you want to set opera:config#mail%20view%20two%20lined%20messages to 0.
See <http://my.opera.com/operawiki/forums/topic.dml?id=1196552> for helping on finding settings in the new layout.
If that's not what you want, you'll need to be more specific.

I actually like the two-line layout, though, and in the vertical split view, one line wouldn't have enough room to show all the information.
In the old horizontal split layout, however, there was a little icon indicating the source of the message (e.g. a mail envelope or a rss feed icon) in front of the subject, and there was a column for labels that showed labels set on the mail. I would like to have both of those in the two-line layout - my screen has plent of width for this (though the icon obviously doesn't really use any space at all). There's other information I would like in the two-line view as well (size, time sent), but those are not as important.
Or more broadly: I would like to customize what information is shown in the two lines for each message in the mail list.

O.K. Opera doesn't support that though, sorry. You can wish for it in the wish-list forum though.

Just leave the mail panel open. In the mail panel, you have the Feeds, Labels and All Messages access points. Then, just click the view for that feed or label or just a view under 'All Messages" for unlabeled mail. For views under "All Messages", make sure "show feeds" is unchecked. Then, when you open a list, you'll know what type of messages are in it. Not what you wanted, but it's how I do it.
Also note that you can use the account selector to only show "feeds" in "All Messages" if you want (when "show feeds" is checked).
